    Icky oil pick up

I wonder if it's the problem I ran into on a Hilux. After doing mine a mate said he wanted his oil changing and pickup cleaning on his 3.0 Hilux, no problem I said. When I came to do it the sump was totally different to my cruiser, the lower and upper sump were one piece, I couldn't remove the...

    Snow Watch

This was near Ipstones, Staffs last night. 5-6 inches on the road and visibility was terrible. Large drifts at the sides of the road and on it (I got stuck on one  ).

    Front wiper arm

Lift the arm up and then try wiggling it around first. I've had them off like this before but sometimes they are corroded onto the spindle.

    Rear Door

I'm definitely interested as well. One of the few things I really dislike about the 120 is the uncontrollable rear door. A mate of mine has a Vitara LWB with a swing open door like the 120 but with a gas strut at the bottom, it works well. The 120 should of come with one from the factory, the...

    WHAT A MESS......LOL

Nice clip. I agree the artic driver was just trying his best to pull the 4x4 out, but he should of given up long before. Spinning his wheels till the made a set of 2 foot deep holes was only going to end one way :smirk:

    Icky oil pick up

Changed the oil on mine at the weekend, dropped the lower pan off for a check and it was a similar story. Looks like these engines are prone to it. Before After

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Changed the drivers front door check strap. It was worn on the hinge part and clunking loudly when opening and closing the door. Nice easy 20 minute job. Milner to the rescue...£45 for a new genuine one, local stealers wanted £116 +vat!

    Icky oil pick up

Nasty. I'm gonna change the oil on mine soon, was thinking of pulling the lower sump off and cleaning the pickup at the same time. I definitely will be now.

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

Excellent write up, thank you Mad Miff. Mine has done the very annoying rattle since I bought it, spent the afternoon doing the fix and my god what a difference. It's like a new truck. Some spare arch liner clips are a must before doing this, they are the worst part. Almost impossible to remove...

    Centre diff lock switch

On the lc3 it comes on automatically when you put the transfer box in HL or LL, there is no switch like on the 4 and 5 so you can't use low without the diff being locked.

Did you get anywhere with this toolsplus? Looking to do this myself and not found much info around.

    Cooper Discoverer A/T 3 265/65 R17 120 R

I have these on my 120 (it came with them) and they seem to be very good so far. Not tested them offroad but on the road they are great. I don't know what they're like mileage wise but I'm in the same boat as you... i.e. i'll probably have to replace them due to age before they actually wear...

    Brakes: Disks and Pads

Pagid discs and pads are available from Euro car parts for a very reasonable price. I've used them on an 80 series and many other vehicles, never had any problems, always found them to be very good. They also do Brembo, slightly dearer but also very good quality. I'd be wary of Milner, they...

    Hi from new 120 owner

Thanks Gerry and Andy :grinning: It's mainly the lack of control that I don't like on the auto boxes, how they like to change down unnecessarily on hills and scream the revs up for no reason. I agree the auto is better in traffic, but I don't commute far so don't find myself in it often. My...

    Finally let me down

Ah. Mine have no date stamps that I can find, I think they may have been replaced with genuine ones, made by nippon denso.

    Finally let me down

The quality isn't what it used to be...one of my cupholders broke not long after I bought it. It's just not on. Anyone have a pic of the original batteries? I have a feeling mine may be originals, as they have removable caps for adding water which I haven't seen in years. If they are they're...

    Hi from new 120 owner

Ok I'll bear that in mind Crispin. It's got Coopers on at the moment, they seem pretty good. Thanks. A group buy on the ally guards sounds good, I'd definitely be in if one were to happen. It's just personal preference really on the gearbox isn't it, I've just never been a fan of auto boxes...

    Hi from new 120 owner

I can only compare it to the 5 speed 80 really, but it feels much happier at 70/80, makes motorway driving a lot nicer. Thanks. A few tweaks yes, mainly been doing maintenance since I got it but I fitted some wind deflectors today, an A bar and an asfir ally sump guard are on my list.

    Hi from new 120 owner

Thanks guys. And hello brother ; ) They definitely made a manual 90, just not many about. The want for a 90 was mainly due to price, a mint low miler 120 was a lot more than I wanted to spend. But I was struggling to find a 90, started looking at 120s. Then l found they made a 6 speed...

    Hi from new 120 owner

Hi everyone I'm Alistair from near Cheadle, Staffordshire. Recently bought myself an 04 LC3 120. My dad has owned 80 series for years, decided now is the time I got myself a cruiser. Originally I wanted a d4d colorado (wanted something a bit better on juice than an 80, I was coming from a...
