Thanks for the reminder

I've decided to take the starter off first and have a look at it to see how much of a kit I need. There are ones on ebay for 13 quid, which are just plunger and copper parts, or rough traxs do a more comprehensive kit fo 50 odd quid.

I can’t find the starter relay on my 96 Petrol 80 series. Anybody know where it is please. The starter isn’t disengaging and turns with ignition off! I’m thinking it’s the relay??

I eventually got round to mine. It was a dash out job, but on the plus side I managed to pick up a genuine matrix really cheap(don't ask!). I got someone else to do it with my help(not much). I'm so glad I didn't take it on. What a mess it is inside there! Anyway, thanks for the invaluable input...

Hi all. Has anyone any experience of fitting an aftermarket heater matrix to their 80 series? Is this advisable? If so which brand did you use? thanks for your time! Mark

I replaced the fusable links and most everything works fine now except the abs? Any ideas there?

Is there a cheap fix that might work? Egg in the cooling system or something like that?

There’s what appears to be a thermostat(?) that goes in that hole.

This is the picture of the leak I have. It looks like it’s the matrix then? Damn!

I think it is coolant as it is sticky, besides I haven't used the AC since August! It's not enough to register a change in level at the radiator yet. Shall investigate more today. Weather permitting. thanks for your input.

I'm really hoping it's not the heater matrix. Apparently that's up there somewhere! The stream seems to be coming from a valve(?) on the bottom of a white plastic container?

Thanks Starcruiser. I did just that and yes the fusable link by the battery has blown. and the smoke well gone(hehe). i couldn't find the other one you were talking about. My cruiser only has one battery.

Hi ,I appear to have a leak coming from a white plastic box to the right of the glovebox. Any ideas what is going on? Any help greatly appreciated.

My battery was flat and i replaced it with a n old battery from my rv. The terminals were the other way round and i ended up carelessly connecting them the wrong way round. there was a bit of smoke from the cables going which should have been going to the positive side of the battery. I quickly...

It does show signs of having been too hot. If I get a mo, open it up and see what's inside.

If I come across one I might Chris, but I have to iron out various other issues. It seems this LC has been treated quite badly by it's previous owner!

All good now. VC remov d and lc running perfectly now. It’ll make it a lot easier if n sainsbury’s Car park now! Now onto the next issue. Water loss from radiator! Thanks for your input.

Still not sure about the shimmies. I put them both on the pump. Seemed most likely as they are exactly the same size in profile. Matching up the pump drive is difficult. I got the case half on, but reckon the drive is not positioned right, so will take it off tomorrow for realignment. Ran out...

Ok, VC removed and reassembling now. When I took it apart two washers fell out. Same diameter, one thicker than the other. I know one is the pump shimmy, where is the other to be located and which way round ie thick one or thin one on the pump. Thanks for your help. Really need to get to the...

Anybody got a TC for sale?

I have centre diff lock button. I can feel it locking the diff in and out. I’m not that savvy, but am learning quickly as I bought a pig in a poke. In a thread on here it mentions removing the VC completely and running without. What do you reckon?

With one wheel off the ground I have no movement. Both wheels off they turn freely in opposite directions

Hi all, i’m New to this forum. Is there a search box? I have an issue with wind up. Scrubbing of tyres when on full lock. I found an interesting write up about the VC seizing and wondered if I had the same problem? Any help much appreciated. It’s a vx 80 1997 4.5 petrol.
