Can you lift the body off the chassis on a Colorado?

No probs, thanks for your input, gone way off topic already.

Can you lift the body off the chassis on a Colorado?

Thanks Trevor, useful info. Are they any good for chunks like hub carriers where bearings are stuck in and resisting even a 15 tonne press and can they be used on things like track rods where the nuts for the ends are seized etc? Like Bob I think one could be a useful addition if it is...

Can you lift the body off the chassis on a Colorado?

Love her, you are proving more and more you must be my long lost brother or something, just the sort of daft thing I would have done a while back. Would love one of these but could not justify it although my better half (she says so) would probably let me have one if I promised to fix the...

Can you lift the body off the chassis on a Colorado?

You sound like a man after my own heart, and a tool junkie to boot! I've just taken a few pics to give you a flavour, the Land Cruiser I was going to see has been sold already so no big box of spares yet sadly. Would love a telehandler but they fetch too much money normally. Your 3CX would...

Can you lift the body off the chassis on a Colorado?

Many thanks for your advice and encouragement Bob. I have done body off on a Range Rover and a Triumph Spitfire many years ago but nothing on a 'modern' motor. I'm going to look at a possible donor vehicle today which allegedly has a good chassis so I may be able to get two bites of the cherry...

Can you lift the body off the chassis on a Colorado?

Hi Bob, nice to know I'm not the only one with similar issues. Did you just see what needed doing and do it or was there a guide to body removal you used? I'm of a mind to fabricate parts for the inner sills and chassis rather than use repair panels as I'm trying to keep costs down plus it can...

Can you lift the body off the chassis on a Colorado?

What a shame Steve Allard hasn't given a bit more detail. I have a 1998 Colorado which needs a lot of serious chassis welding as well as quite a bit on the body as it's rotten near the mounting points. I am lucky that I have a two post lift at home but would like any advice on getting the body...
