This is very interesting Towpack - thanks for responding.
Big question(s):
Whereabouts did you "pull the drain tubes off"?
Presumably at the top on either side of the sunroof?
I have water 'falling down' from under the dash on the extreme left of the passenger footwell almost in line with the A...
I've tried both MegaZip and Amayama - DISCONTINUED.
Mike at ChapelGate is having a try too - but looks like I'll be buying some seam sealer pretty soon :)
Very helpful Sarmajornz - Big Thank you.
A long shot: Don't suppose you know of a Landcruiser 'expert' in South East Kent?
I can write Reports but sadly I am a banana-fingers-hands-off kinda guy :(
Hi Dave - where / how can I order a 'new' replacement drain surround?
Are they these which I have been referred to by a guy on IH8MUD in Australia (see below):
63255 COVER, SLIDING ROOF GUIDE RAIL, RH
63255‑60010 (01/1990 - 10/1995) 1 $12.06
63255‑60011 (11/1995 - 12/1997) 1 $11.47...
That's a new worry for me Stumog - or is it
For the last few weeks my LC has been sitting in the rain albeit protected from water entering through the sunroof.
If water was entering from behind the heater box would have to enter via the drain under the grill / wiper box in front of the...
Very helpful Sarmajornz thank you...
Now understand that the tubes running down the A posts into the sills will naturally fill the sills with water from the tubes.
Yes with the front bung out the water flows out freely.
The slit drains have been blocked by a well meaning 'mechanic' /...
Thanks very much StarCruiser
Good info....
So for sure no chance of water being forced through the bulkhead somewhere?
There's nothing wrong with my windscreen. No water on top of the dash or in the corners.
No water on my head either.
No water coming through on the headlining.
But lots of...
On motorway in torrential rain it fills the sills with water - you can hear it sloshing about, Fortunately have bungs (where I injected waxy) to remove / let the water out. Have had the drain 'tubes' blown through (maybe off - could that be the problem?) by my mechanic who says there's the sound...
Hello Higgy - just realised this thread had continued beyond my last entry... My Landcruiser is down in Devon undergoing some major improvements (like fabricating front inner wings and cutting out rust patches on the rear sill / wheel-arch passenger side and around the rear tailgate and quarter...
Apparently I can't PM anyone but have to wait fro a 'response' from an open 'thread' like this one... Do Karl Webster or Chapel Gate stock NEW weather strips (chrome with black plastic covering) + clips for 4 doors 1993 80 series. Also NEW 'rubbers' that fit between the detachable wheel...
Thank you each / all...
Like I said Forum protocols not something I'm familiar with - here or anywhere else - anyway your (collective) responses appreciated...
Hah - I found this old message and only just discovered all the great help and comments!!! Thanks to everyone who contributed... I've been sidetracked with a lot of other 'real-world' stuff so been distracted and hadn't the time to follow up this original thread / had forgotten about it...
Hello - I'm new to this site (and don't join sites usually so not familiar with the protocols)... How can I contact Crispin or GeekOKent regarding my Landcruiser 80 series which I purchased after chucking my Range Rover. I live in Kent (UK) and have bought spare / used parts from Garry Rigby...
Hello... I've been a Classic Range Rover owner for fifteen years ....
But every time it let me down (frequently) I wondered about getting a 'super-reliable' 80 series Landcruiser.
Well I've just bought one - a 1993 Japanese import VX 4.7 petrol with just 98,ooo miles on her.
I've had it...
