Not Starting and strange behaviour 1FZ-FE

Update - Need knowledge........ And there was me thinking that lockdown would give me lots of free time to play. OK, finally got around to doing what needed to be done. She is throwing a B2799 code, or a 99 code if you're using the paperclip. Immobiliser. I have three factory master keys and...

    Help requested

Easiest way is to undo the bolt beside the fuel open, pop the cables off for the fuel open and bonnet release and then pop the two clips along the bottom of the trim (above the pedals). The whole grey section comes out (careful of the bit on the right side under the rubber) giving you easy...

    Can’t wire up my spotlights

Hi Liam, Did the Patrol have custom sockets for the spots ? I have a couple of Lightforce spots but they're not wired using any harness, have a relay that runs from the high beam ? Rock

Power window install problems 105 standard

Hi Nick, I have a 2001 GXL and I have most of that area dismantled at the moment, I'll take some photos tomorrow and have a look where things go, might be some help. Cheers, Rock

Not Starting and strange behaviour 1FZ-FE

Update Didn't have much more than 10 minutes to have a look today but there's definitely something up with the ECU/Immobiliser interface, I tried to program the two key fobs with fresh batteries and it wouldn't do it. Tried all three black keys and one grey key I have as I didn't know which one...

Not Starting and strange behaviour 1FZ-FE

Thanks, just remembering I changed batteries in both key fobs and never set them back up. I thought that I remember reading somewhere that if the immobiliser is activated then the check engine light doesn't come on at ignition, anybody know ? I know I fucked up on the batteries, actually got a...

Not Starting and strange behaviour 1FZ-FE

Hi, Just got around to taking the tarp off the cruiser for some TLC in the lockdown. 2001 105 with 1FZ-FE 4.5 with EFI. She was last started over Christmas, put the batteries back in, she fires and tries but then fails. She only fires on the first turn of the key. Key needs to go all the way to...

    Hello from Ireland

Well at least some TLC is underway, Irish winters aren't good for them. Mine has been out in the back yard under a tarp for toooooo long. Had planned an Africa trip this winter and was starting to get her sorted but looks like that's not going to happen now :cry:........ No, don't know...

Anyone know about power window issues.

Found this, looks like the jumper plan is formalised.

Anyone know about power window issues.

FSM for a 2004 says >10V, how about disconnecting loom and jumping a ground and positive direct from battery to master switch to see if the limit switches and all are working ? Most of the electrical in the file attached is pretty much the same on my 2001, which should be the same as your 1999...

    ABS light

Hi Red, Sorry, was away. My 2001 has the older 22 pin DLC (Diagnostic Link Connector) inside the engine bay on the RHD Drivers side. There is a fairly simple manual procedure to test the ABS using this connector. Mine does not have the newer DLC which is OBD2 compliant which is found in the...

    1fz-fe specs?

5.5km/l is about same as mine without a full load or trailer, I get 4.8 with a full load and that drops to 4 pulling. Drops again using the pwr button. And in low range, full load, working hard I reckon 25 litres per hour. If you are running 35s I wonder if you are getting better economy on the...

    Fjz-105 high idle!

Hi Nik, When you pulled the air intake did you by any chance disconnect or screw up the temperature sensor that is located on the rear underside of the air intake hose (on 105) ? I have had some fun in the past with it. You can check it with a multimeter or just change out the sensor with a...

    70 series rims onto a 105 series

Hi Justin, Not sure how you're thinking but don't just match the rims and tyres, make sure and get your trailer axle to match the tread width of the 105, that way driving in sand / pan / mud will be a whole lot easier with a lot less drag. Makes a huge difference to pulling a trailer in the...

    1fz-fe specs?

Hiya, I have this beautiful baby in a 105, love it. Bought new, have the brochure somewhere but the spec was definitely 179kW/240 horse. Post 1998 / post 80 series the straight six FZ-FE is 179kW, the 165kW you mention is nett. Even with my wheels I have never had a problem with power, though...

is 105 fulltime 4WD or part time 4WD?

You might be right Stumog, I was only thinking of Aus but there were bound to be variants elsewhere. I bought mine new from dealer and there certainly wasn't a part time 4wd option available at the time.

is 105 fulltime 4WD or part time 4WD?

105 out of the factory is full time 4WD, but there is the possibility to modify the transfer case and install free wheeling hubs on the front axle - there's kits (Google MFK1210-100HD) available for same. Most positive reviews on these kits are where the vehicle never goes off road again...
