Hello mate. You’re in a good spot for some exploring. Lucky you’re already a surgeon- finding someone decent round here isn’t the easiest of tasks! :)

    Pop tester recommendations?

Thanks for the link Towpack. Yes it occurred to me, and I suppose you’re all right about a specialist but it s that “enTrust” question, and overcoming my delusions of mechanical grandeur! Do decent specialists usually give you an analysis or print out or something?. I really want to see for...

    Pop tester recommendations?

Hi all Can anyone recommend a decent pop tester that won’t break the bank? I heard good things about this BGS technic | Injector Nozzle Tester | purchase online - [Leaving Land Cruiser Club] But at €500+ it s a bit beyond budget. And the lower end ones mostly appear to leak and need rebuilding.

1HZ Injector variants - HAC vs Standard

Anyone know the actual difference between injectors other than the label? My troopy is SA spec and i have the HA compensator but unsure what difference or harm it will do if I put in the standard injector type or replace my existing with the standard nozzles. 1) 23600-19035 (with high...

    While my cruiser gently weeps…

I’ve had an oil seepage from somewhere other than the oil sump plug (it’s always oily around there) and I think I ve narrowed it down to either the oil strainer flange gasket OR the strainer sub assembly hose which has just aged since 2011. I’ll just replace them both. Only thing is that hose...

GRJ78 Troopy to Overland ready home

Once again congrats on the build. Been following from the start and it’s a fine specimen! I have a question you might be able to answer - I may have a similar fog light as the one pictured in the early days of your build (the Aus one before you had to move it for the IVA). On mine it’s not...

    Exhaust mounts

Just a regular place. You could attach the mount yourself- it was only the removal of the old one that brought out the hammers

    Exhaust mounts

Was also advised to put in a longer flex pipe and a 3mm thickness exhaust pipe next time around.
  17. P

    Exhaust mounts

Turns out that the flex pipe i had ( see pics) has seized and hardened and the only option other than its replacement is to put in a beefy rubber mount below the place where the exhaust knocks

Does anyone know if the exhaust section beneath the offside, driver’s door should have any kind of clamp or fixture ? It started shuddering quite harshly - noticeable especially after switching off the engine. There’s nothing holding it in position - it’s just resting on the rock slider...

    Drive Belt tensioning method ?

Hello all I need to tighten the dual drive belts (alternator) but the process is too simple for anyone to have documented it for a fool. The Toyota maintenance manual does nt even mention it. So as per the diagram - do first loosen the lower alternator nut (highlighted in yellow) then turn...

I binged watched that youtube blokey for hours! Thanks for the link. Well that s quite reassuring stuff reliability-wise.I'm still really curious to see your real world mpg figures! Where can you source the HZJ78 new? Everything I found is "for tropical export only". But that said, I don't...

    Importing non-EU 78

Thanks all. A VW tester would do the trick ( if they have nt all been passed the buck)! I thought about a J import but from Belgium seems less to me a tad easier. I went to the dealer asking about the tropical spec is. This is what they said and couldn't come up with much more- "Adapted...
