My 80 series which Ii drove to uganda in november and back without problems ..6500 km!is now hesitating to engage fwd and reverse gear from standstill and I think has become slow in changeing fwd gears inDrive

I tried all I could and they had the cheek to advise me to buy ’correct fitting studs’ as I did not know the specs for the landcruiser studs.Any way we disagreed and my garage me sent me contact for machinist at H&M hydraulics who machined four studs for me to suit the new turbo holes ...
I bought a new turbo ..max-speeding rods..and I am having problem as the new studs thread wont fit into the turbo side.The studs are from a full turbo fitting set FA1 PL. I tried the old studs and they too wont fit into the turbo thread!!! Andy one had a similar issue???

an engineer friend has compressor around the pressure I mentioned .he said he uses it for some jobs fixing other compressors and just source of pressure!!

Its original toyota 100 series.
the flap is definitely not stuck nor rusty…its the actuator where its stuck.(I released the actuator bolts and the flap is free)
I will take it to a garage to see if it opens on air pressure increase carefully.
I’ll read the sticker tomorrow and send to you...
Yes turbo is out on bench! Its stuck with the flap closed..the thing is turning freely with no end play at all and i now think that the oil stains were from the breather and not that much anyway! Are you suggesting I open it up?

I have a examined my turbo and all seems fine
the only problem is that the actuator lever is totally stuck and immovable..I have tried lubricating and it wont budge.Dhame its a sealed unit!!
where can I get a replacement item

Im looking at the turbo and air tubes ..there’s lots of oily muck in them..??turbo gone??? I am tempted but would not like to tackle the exhaust manifold bolts..hear they can be huge issues there !!! So can I just remove turbo? And replace???

I have been to toyota and a good mechanic told me how to find and removed thermostat ..its not working wheel opening well after 80 to 82 degrees .!
Ive drained almost all coolant by the radiator drain tap.
More coolant came out after i removed thermostats ..at least one litre.The color is indeed...
Have just looked..fluid is almost straw coloured so i think originally pink or red!! No smell!So could be water!!!??
Ill have to empty it out i guess….I see the drain tap bottom of radiator.
Where is the thermostat by the way cant see it!!!

is there a difference between matched pair and just a physically compatible pair??if not a stupid question then tayna can do batteries to fit my car at 100Ah..and these are YUASA 5334 and 5335

I am in inverness scotland and having trouble sourcing pair of matched batteries for my 100vx
what I want is 12V 90Ah and 700A…..anything higher like 95Ah and 800A will be fine but they must be matched!
tayna is only talking of a single battery…Halfords haven’t got..
any other sources?? Ebay...
I changed my tank cradle (thanks to B Murphy generosity! ) and also the tank itself! Now after cleaning inlet mani and ports and changing the fuel filter Im ready to bleed the system to start the engine.

sounds very sensible..a difficult area to access..lots of things to remove and then deal withe rusted studs etcetc..not looking fwd to this job.But first some learning on turbos and cost!!

I am considering installing a new turbo on my 100Vx as I am intending to export it to Zimbabwe when all is finished.
Its done over 300K km I have no specific known issues but since I di the inlet clean up and saw the oil in the pipes let alone the gunk in all those places I'm wondering whether...
which DENSO injector nozzles fit the 4.2 diesel 80 series 12valve automatic ??i see some one talking of two stage set up.Is this so for this 80 series??

With two 100AH batteries are there any changes you have to make on the car?I know you get extra current run time with engine off!Is that the only other advantage besides more power on starting up??
