Glow Wiring + Glow Element Issues --- HJ61

Alright. An update for you all. In the end I just ended up replacing the wiring loom and now I have success. At last. She turns over nicely and all electronics work as they should. My issue now is, no glow. I accidently bought a timer for a hj60 2H, and chucked that in, and it gets glow but not...

Glow Wiring + Glow Element Issues --- HJ61

Thanks for the reply. I am quite sure it works of a timed heating system from direct power to the glow element on the engine. Unfortunately it is not like the old 2-H's as they are a glow plug system but cheers for the idea mate. I'll be sure to check if the glow element on the engine was...

    Please help my FJ62 (1988)

I haven't seen much of these but if you want a simple DIY analysis I would say check the oil, have the pressure checked, maybe check the sensors on the side of the engine. I know sometimes the petrol ones work their way loose and sometimes can be faulty. I hope this helps.

Glow Wiring + Glow Element Issues --- HJ61

G'day all viewers, I am truly sorry if I drag on about this but I need to explain in full, so strap yourselves in, I currently am having some issues with my trusty 1986 HJ61 (12 volt). She is fitted with the beautiful, ultimate, and mighty 12-HT engine and unfortunately was smashed up in a...

    Steering what’s my options

I would try flushing the pump out (blowing it out) and giving it a good clean up. There should be 4 bolts on top, undo those and you should be able to see a few of the inside components. Don't clean it out with water as it may cause water stains to build up clogging up your pump. Try using more...

HELP PLEASE can someone help to diagnose the potential problem. Leak on rear drivers side wheel

Yes by the looks of it, the leaking of the oil/liquid is from the seal and the only idea that I can come up with to undo the screws is to grab your Phillips screwdriver and a hammer and tap the end of the Phillips while it is on the screw. This will send shocks through the screw allowing it to...

Tidying up engine bay wiring hj60

In order to replace the electrical wiring in the engine bay, you would have to either replace some of the wiring looms behind the dash, or cut the bad ones off and use a soldering iron and mend new wires on. It would take a mammoth amount of effort knowing the old 60 series. Be warned it is a...

It could be a bare, worn or chewed wire. Maybe check to see if the plug is the problem. If not any of these, I am sorry and I hope you get it fixed soon.

    Scum

What a B****. Sorry that had to happen to you mate. Poor old 60 series take a floggin. It is a shame that it had to happen especially to such a nice vehicle. What infuriates me is that some people never understand the true significance of the old 60 series and what their value is. I hope that...

About to embark on a journey to learn, make mistakes and seek advice.

Welcome to the forum. Some advice is choosing a deasil. deasil engine are best for lugging boats and trailers around. If it is an FJ it would be a petrol (ULP). So I would check up on that. But anyway, good luck and I hope all goes well for you.

    1984 BJ40 spring saddle

Nice. They look like handy little things. Especially for safari drives. I have always wondered if an engine in a Hj60 or a Hj61 would fit though.

    1GZ FE 5.0 v12

I love the 2H Engines. If I were you mate, I would do a reco on the girl and get her on the road. Good choice. Love the HJ60's but love the HJ61's more. But I don't think a V12 would be real easy to fit. The cost will be high due to the fact that your HJ60's and the HJ61's are an inline 6. You...

HELP PLEASE can someone help to diagnose the potential problem. Leak on rear drivers side wheel

A greenish liquid huh? When was the last time you topped up your brake fluid? It could be a leaking seal from low pressure levels or brake fluid levels. If it isn't that it would have to be something with dirt and muck in the seal.

    HJ60 switches

It depends on if your car is a ULP or deasil because the wiring is completely different in Petroleum and a deasil Land Cruiser.

    Another one 'saved'....

Man! That car looks like a beauty but a rust bucket at the same time. I bet that you are going to have some fun with that. You might need a cab and chassis replacement due to that tiny bit of rust. LOL. I hope the project goes well for you. Quick question, is that a HJ61 with a 12HT engine? Or...

    Finding a 60 series that isn’t rotten

I don't know if it would be wise to purchase Land Cruisers that are that cheap because sometimes the seller may be mistaken of whether it contains rust. But if you are running low on options, you could request an inspection for yourself and check for rust. The main places you want to look for...

You do know your Land Cruisers. I have only recently found out about the type Land Cruiser known as the BJ, I know that your HJ's are diesel and your FJ's are the petrol or ULP, but I have never been quite sure of the BJ's. But there is one things for sure, all Land Cruisers are good in my books

Yeah 60 series are a real pain in the bum when it comes to mechanical jobs and operations, but eventually............ Like me ...... We all get them fixed and running which is frustrating in some cases, but it is worth it in the end, because everyone just stands there shaking their head saying...
