    Seized spare wheel lock

Thanks Tractionman. I'll just drill it.

    Seized spare wheel lock

I've lubricated several times with VD40. I've tried some slight blows with a hammer. I've applied heat with a propane torch. I've tried to rotate the outer housing with a pipe wrench. I've tried to use an unused spare key. I've wiggled and wiggled again. The pins inside the lock seems to engage...

    Seized spare wheel lock

I'm not able to push it at all. It's rock solid. The manual doesn't say much.

    Seized spare wheel lock

I've had CRC in the lock through the key hole, and I've also sprayed behind the plastic cover. I've tried to turn the lock-housing with a pipe wrench. This feels very solid, and I don't think it is meant to be turned. I've also wiggled the lock with a flat screwdriver. Nothing moves so far. I'll...

    Seized spare wheel lock

The lock that secures the spare wheel has seized. I've sprayed with some CRC, but don't want to apply much force to it with the key. I've never unlocked the spare wheel, so I'm not familiar with the mechanics behind the lock. It is not crucial for me to have a lock on the rear wheel, so maybe...

Any smart phone holder solutions out there?

Thanks everybody. I ordered a Ram Mount as shown in post #3 above. With adhesive pad, short extension arm and an X-mount. Unfortunately the X grip interferes with the buttons at the right edge of my phone, so it cannot be used. Yes, I should have thought about that.:flushed: If the X grip had...

Any smart phone holder solutions out there?

Thanks Howmanygoes RAM mounts definitely have some options. I could probably fix this one to the right side of the instrument cluster.

Any smart phone holder solutions out there?

Could you guys provide some inspiration? I'm looking for an elegant phone holder solution for my car. How have you done it in your LC90? Preferably it would sit in front of the inclinometer cluster, or to the right or left of the speedometer cluster (as illustrated below). The phone is a...

    Rear differential locker is broken

Found a link on a repair of the actuator. It's for another Toyota, but the actuator looks quite similar.

I come from the land of ice and snow

If this site is correct then my car is a KDJ95 with an 1HDFTE engine, and not a KZJ95 with 1KZ-TE engine. The specs I've found for the 1HDFTE engine looks quite similar to what is stated in the papers that followed the car, although not entirely the same. The car is registered with 163 Hp if I...

I come from the land of ice and snow

Found out about the sound I tought came from the torque converter. It actually comes from the joint between the exhaust pipe and the manifold. I've never had that problem before. Fortunately it is easy to fix.

I come from the land of ice and snow

Hello everybody. My name is Gorm Bruland. On Saturday I bought my first Land Cruiser. It's a 2001 Prado with 3 liter turbodiesel with about 160 hp. About 133.000 miles on the meter. Hope I can churn out 133.000 more. It seems to be in relatively good shape when it comes to rust. As far as I can...
