    3.0ltr Clutch pedal issue

There's a balance spring on the clutch pedal to take some of the load when you hoof down on it. If there's a leak in the hydraulics the spring will depress the pedal without your help. When this happened to me I put new seals in the master cylinder, but a week later it happened again. In the end...

    LJ70 Build Thread!

Keep your chin up Ben. Tough times. Roger is a fund of good knowledge but he's no diplomat! Someone on another forum said he could start a fight on his own in a locked room with one hand tied behind his back, but my friends tell me he's a really helpful guy in the flesh. Pity he's on the wrong...

    LJ70 - Engaging 4 wheel drive?

Many of us just leave the hubs locked in all the time, especially in Winter. That way you only need to press the button to get 4wd. Never noticed any difference in fuel consumption myself.

1993 Landcruiser KZJ70 3-litre for sale - very rare opportunity

OK folks - I'm about to do an oilchange on this beast, and then I'll start to do the necessary work on it. If you're interested make me an offer before I spend too much on it to let it go. I'll come down a bit, but not massively on price. This is a good, mechanically solid vehicle which needs...

1993 Landcruiser KZJ70 3-litre for sale - very rare opportunity

129,000 miles; MOT July 2013, Tax May2013. Asking £2,950 OVNO Toyota only sold 380 of these extremely capable vehicles here and it's believed that fewer than 200 are left. It has the KZT 3.0 litre turbo-diesel engine which delivers 125bhp, and 215 lb/ft of torque at 2,000 revs. Mechanicals...

    air in clutch line??

Had this on my KZJ some years ago - it was the master cylinder - tried a rebuild, no better; new master cylinder did the trick. When I looked carefully at the bore of the old cylinder it had very faint scores along it which were allowing the fluid to leak past the seal.

    Help! Fuel tank falling out?

Laid on the frozen ground and replaced the rusted, busted tank strap with a brand new one courtesy of Mr Toyota and £60 from my wallet - ouch! Easy job except I sheared the bolt that holds the strap up at the front edge of the tank and had to drill the broken end out. Inevitably buggered the...

    Help! Fuel tank falling out?

Having driven through a flood this morning in my KZJ70, one of the two metal straps under the fuel tank broke near the front joint (pretty corroded) and dangled on the road. I very gingerly tied it up out of the way and drove slowly home with - apparently - no further damage. Question: are the...

Roger - I was referring to the spring booster on the KZJ clutch pedal - wrong terminology perhaps?

    clutch booster

Is your clutch booster actually broken? I ask because I thought I had this problem on my KZJ and it turned out to be a knackered master cylinder.

    Tyres

Although I don't need mega-mileage out of a set I did get bitten with the tyres I had on before the Kumhos. !0,000 miles is not enough. They were Avons - rubbish!

    Tyres

As my faithful KZJ passed its MOT yesterday at no cost I want to treat it to a new set of boots. The last lot are eight years and 35,000 miles old and have been great - 31x10.50x15 Kumho Road Venture ATs. They cost me about £60 a corner in 2004. I'm amazed by the internet prices of tyres now...

    tow weight for a 70?

Telling me! My runaround (Focus tdci with the 1.6 litre Peugeot engine) gives me 105bhp and 190 ilbs/ft.
  45. John_McCartney

    tow weight for a 70?

Is that the legal weight Roger? I've towed three tons of gravel on a tipping trailer that must weigh close to half a ton with no problem. (Ahem . . . on private land of course, Officer. Yes of course I'll buy a ticket for the Policeman's Charity Raffle.)

    LJ70 Build Thread!

If it's the same set up as on my KZJ it won't start on one battery ever - and that's been so with me for all the 11 years I've owned it.
  47. John_McCartney

How does a KZJ 70 drive on standard suspension /wheels?

I think the ride is pretty good on standard suspension and tyres. It's a short wheelbase rear-wheel-drive car on the road with quite a high centre of gravity, but you don't really notice it except in the wet when you have to be a little more cautious on bends to prevent it from swapping ends...
