I always used Dexron III. It coped with heat, cold and everything else, big loads included. Never had gearbox issues other than a bent pin on a connector that messed about with the TC lock up. Stick with Dexron III, change it at prescribed intervals abd don't overfill. If just draining, be sure...

I'd be interested to know what Land Cruisers Overland actually did and when... interesting circumstances around them it has to be said. Also BEBs don't have to be done unless there's a need to. Many trucks out there, including mine have not needed them changed. I'd say diff whine under throttle...

Im probably going to sell my truck. Its a '93 VX auto, Japanese import, 12v, recently had a fair amount done at Julian Vs eg front axles, injector and fuel pump servicing, timing belt etc etc. Good truck. I'm not putting pics up here but happy to send to interested parties and to discuss price...

Mysteriously, the box started to lock up as normal, behaved like it should... until tonight... suddenly back to the slush box. Will attempt to sort in about a week.... feels like its sensor/electrical rather than mechanical....

Thanks... there seems to be a temp sensor for the box that monitors the transmission fluid temp.

Thanks Jon. Its all a bit strange. After start up, once the car gets to about 40mph it locks up fine - for about 20-30 minutes. Then on deceleration or overrun when slowing down, I boot the throttle and it goes through the gears but wont lock up. Almost feels like its temperature or pressure...

Hi there Just wondered if anyone had experience of a torque converter on an 80 series not locking up. Julian V has replaced the lock up solenoid valve which seemed to do the trick but now its not locking up... although it did twice on a drive home tonight. It seems on overrun, foot of the gas...

Anyone know where I can find some spring loaded moveable anchor points to run ratchet straps through. Theyre from SA i think, a big round eye sitting on a spring loaded catch system that slots into a rail... Can't seem to find 'em. Thanks Jeremy

The only reason I posted was in case someone knew he'd gone away or something similar. Appreciate he's busy - which is good - and so am I, 4 months of this year spent filming and running edits in Canada across 7 trips, 7 day weeks with v long hours although not in a workshop, and I keep on top...

Have a look in the list - I came across these bulbs for imports... they're something like an H6c... have a rummage at some other threads and you'll find it... Currently in Canada but will look when I can... Jeremy STOP PRESS!!!!! They're H3c bulbs...

My local Toyo dealer has disappeared so I now have nowhere nearby to get basic consumables e.g. oil filters, air filters etc etc. Just wondered if someone knew of an online source for all this sort a stuff. Thanks Jeremy

I've put a set of Halford Extreme H4s in the main headlamps, pleasantly surprised. Also put new bulbs in the IPF spot, 900 130 watt, not road legal but handy out in the boonies... will now source some H3Cs for the inner driving lamps and will remove the yellow glass... J
