    transfer case oil type?

Variations of oil by members for use in the transfer case so I went ahead and put mine in, feels just fine, good thing about older cars you can more or less get away with slight variations of oil compared to the high spec cars of today where the wrong grade in the engine could screw up the turbo...

    transfer case oil type?

It wasn't expensive being mineral based, 5 quid a litre from GSF... I change all the oils each year anyway so might as well put this in for the year. Usually I get synthetic ones! Can't see the harm in it... no one red flagging it yet lol.

    transfer case oil type?

Doing abit of research, VC is a sealed unit in itself so putting this oil in won't do anything for the VC, only in LSD where it's open allowing the oil in and benefits... Guess the guy didn't need to special order this! Don't think it will do any harm putting it in after all it does lubricate...

    Auto box playing up.

Experiencing a problem when kick down engages from 3rd to 2nd, it over revs and not engaging or accelerating and have to back off the throttle to allow the gearbox to catch up and engage! Never did that before... Same like wise under acceleration going from 2nd to 3rd... Over revs before...

    Juddering from around 30 mph

Finally had a bit sunshine this morning on an otherwise wet ground to strip down both rear brakes and get a good look, found the nearside handbrake shoe lever arm was so stiff from the built up of mud behind the rubber boot which now has been lubricated and freed up, gave the brakes a good clean...

    Juddering from around 30 mph

The judder rises with speed, most noticeable from 30 mph. If it was UJ the the judder would always be there??

    Juddering from around 30 mph

I gave the uj and wheel bearings a total re grease in the summer as I had all the swivel joint and wheel bearings replaced with koyo ones. It only occurred the two recent occasions mentioned, both in wet conditions. I ve not thought of trying the brakes when it happens... When I was on the side...

    Juddering from around 30 mph

I received some juddering from engine and drive after I went thru some puddles and wonder where the weak spots are on the electrics to try and cure it, it did cure by itself after five mins. This was over x mas, then yesterday just driving along wet roads, stopped the car for a minute then off I...

OK, barking maybe, but what about a manual petrol 80?

I ve often thought about this replacing the auto with a manual box as I ve done a total switch on a Volvo I used to have with success,, there was some mention on another forum that its possible to put in a 3.0 hilux engine/box in!!, but a lot of work, other options to save on mpg possibly to...

    Lincomb October 6th,7th Weekend,

Hi tone, it's was a great event and having the scouts made it all better, why not have a cruiser tug of war competition, taking up the slack and go, any jerking by a driver is disqualified. Probably would need an area u don't mind tearing up the ground!!, can scouts provide soft drinks as well...

    Hydraulic Press

@chris yes I agree there with what you said about it, it probably not good enough if it were to be used frequently like in a workshop but it served me well doing all the rubber bushes, like Chris says it has on a couple of occasion not pushed straight and had to reset it in the correct position...
