Having tried angle angle grinders and drills with various different attachments I found the air powered needle gun has been best tool for the job for removing flaky rust under my Hilux.

    Serious failure on emissions.

A few years ago a MOT tester failed our Toyota Yaris diesel on emissions. They told me it needed a new cat converter. I sourced one off eBay, fitted it which took me a while. But before I took it back I looked up the fail code (wish I had done this first) - because they had done petrol car...

How many of you have winches? Essential for that one time you need it? Or used all the time?

Used my winch a few times to get unstuck in snow in Scotland, and getting unstuck in bog holes fields getting firewood. Couple times on greenlanes. Once in morocco. But mostly to assist with felling big trees. and to recover stuck cars & 4x4 in snow where a tow would have probably sufficed but...

    Drivetrain binding on 1996 kzj90

Try jacking each wheel off ground in turn to check you can spin it by hand, to see if a brake is binding. Handbrake off on when checking rears and gearbox in N. Chock over wheels on ground too ! To stop vehicle moving.

converting to part time four wheel drive

I drove our 90 series Collie back from Alps with front prop removed, due to CV joint issue. It didn’t feel that much different to drive. another thing I noted fuel consumption was identical to what it was with front prop fitted. So going to 2wd doesnt save on fuel

    domestic solar panels.

110kw daily is bonkers. for March this year we used average 16kw per day. i think that’s too much, but my NAS server pulls a fair bit. check wires from your house aren’t going to neighbours or a cannabis farm

yeah we were luckily to get system installed in 2011 before rates were reduced. And the payment increases with inflation each year. Think it’s up 5-6% this year so 60p now.
