The body shell was put back on the see if there were any location problems with the front axle and engine mounts.....The hours of measuring, checking it, spot tacking the welds and re-measuring paid off it seems. Happy so far.. Even got one of the tanks we had made fitted in there...

Sadly I only get to work on it between paying jobs :cry: so it could take a while... ....that said once the axle housing has been made and I have got the body off it will be a a lot easier and quicker to do the build up back to a rolling chassis. Whilst that is being done the body will be over...

No John, it will look more like this, but the colour will likely be a burnt orange. ...and a couple of pics of the project.. Seems to be missing some bits :twisted: Ready for stripping, measuring, dipping, coating and rebuilding, Some shiny new chassis parts 8-)

Today the rest of the stuff from under the truck has been removed... Auto box, rear axle and suspension, fuel tank and the last of the AHC components and pipework. Hopefully over the weekend i'll get the chance to test fit the diesel block along with a manual box so I can get some measurements...

Easy way is to take of the other side and see where that spring is located :idea:

Noooooo The 80 track is around 5" narrower than that of the 100. The rear axle will stay in place whilst the front will use a custom made housing with an 80 rear diff installed. The 80 series balls will be grafted on the housing and 80 knuckles will be used with a Hi-steer system. Hubs will be...

Straight from our local Toyota main dealer,over to us, then on a ship to South Africa with one newly installed 70 litre tank. A fair bit of puzzled heads when at around midnight we found that there were not any captive nuts installed behind the new mounting point for the spare wheel...

Hi, It is a pretty easy job to take the wing off. Lift the bonnet and remove the bolts along the top of the wing, then pull out the indicator unit next to the headlight, it is held in by a small screw and a push ball fitting, romove the two bolts you now have access to.. Open the door and remove...

Hi Paul, Befroe you pull the shafts out engage the rear diff lock and leave it that way. This will prevent the fork and dog from being able to drop which makes getting the drive shaft back in a real arse.... Other than that it is very very straight forward.

Hello, Thanks for the feedback and interest that you have all shown in this. We will be running the first of these for definate on the 21st of this month. Truck wise we will take in an 80 series and a 90 series, that the work can be done on so as people are not pulling their own trucks apart...

Now I play with land cruisers and help some of you guys keep them sorted out right...... ...before that I jumped out of stupidly high or ridiculously low aircraft before making someone else's day go south in fairly short order. Spent more time than not in the jungles of foreign lands dealing...
