    The body shell was put back on the see if there were any location problems with the front axle and engine mounts.....The hours of measuring, checking it, spot tacking the welds and re-measuring paid off it seems. Happy so far.. Even got one of the tanks we had made fitted in there...

    Sadly I only get to work on it between paying jobs :cry: so it could take a while... ....that said once the axle housing has been made and I have got the body off it will be a a lot easier and quicker to do the build up back to a rolling chassis. Whilst that is being done the body will be over...

    Today the rest of the stuff from under the truck has been removed... Auto box, rear axle and suspension, fuel tank and the last of the AHC components and pipework. Hopefully over the weekend i'll get the chance to test fit the diesel block along with a manual box so I can get some measurements...

    Long Ranger Tank Install

    Straight from our local Toyota main dealer,over to us, then on a ship to South Africa with one newly installed 70 litre tank. A fair bit of puzzled heads when at around midnight we found that there were not any captive nuts installed behind the new mounting point for the spare wheel...

    Forget the front axle, what about the rear one then?

    Hi Paul, Befroe you pull the shafts out engage the rear diff lock and leave it that way. This will prevent the fork and dog from being able to drop which makes getting the drive shaft back in a real arse.... Other than that it is very very straight forward.
