    Few here gents

Many thanks to Andy and Andy for viewing this truck last week and posting on here. We drove up from Devon to collect it today and I drove it back. VERY pleased with it! Really smooth and quiet. There is only one fault that I have found since doing the 170mile trip back, the O/S rear shock is...

Yep, there are a few places, depending on route. He won't be deviating too far so no real need for a long range tank just yet. I'm making one for the other cruiser to fit where the spare wheel is usually located. This is because the original tank will not fit in it's original location over the...

Good find that man! And seeing that I am just about to send some parts for the other cruiser off for powder coating, that would add to the stack nicely

    80 Series wanted.....

Still looking..... Just to clarify; my use of "sensible price" does not mean a £3000 truck. Likewise, nor does it mean that a £3000 truck is worth £10000 just because it has a snorkel on it. ;)

It's not just 80 axles, it's a complete 80 chassis with running gear and drive train.

    80 Series wanted.....

Hi, I'm currently on a search for a tidy 80 series, preferably a 12v diesel auto. I have a sensible budget but I'm looking for a sensible truck. Anyone looking to sell, PM me.

    Forum Courier......

I am driving my van from Honiton Devon, to Aldershot Hampshire tomorrow, on my return trip I will be empty. Does anyone need anything carried back for them? I don't really want to detour from the route too much, but am willing to carry something back if it helps someone? :)

The guy that uploaded that video says it's a "plain sheet metal" tailgate..... I think dent repair is black magic.....just like plastering! :)

The easier build would have been a 40 on a 40 with a 40 engine. My customer wanted a race prepared 40, that can also be used all year around. He used to have a swb 40 and became tired of the leaf spring suspension in competition. He decided that he wanted all the best of an 80 with 40 body and...

My customer specifically specified the Koni's for th build. He has a friend in South Africa that did a similar job to a hilux race truck many years ago.

Yep. The Euro was better when this body was bought tho. Alluminium ones from the states are more money. They are fairly thick in construction, so structurally fairly strong. I have re-enforced the pedal box area of the bulkhead with a 3mm laser cut plate either side, also the steering column...

The body came from an "un-named" company in France, but has had a LOT of work since to make it geometrically correct and have a finish as shown. They are in no way gel-coated and are fairly rough finished.

Cheers for the comments guys. :) I will start a build thread with pictures shortly. Yes it is a twin shock front set up, Koni heavy track raid. I am a race mechanic every year in north Africa and the truck is being built for a customer to compete is such races.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and thought I'd say hello. :) I have been building a Hybrid landcruiser for a customer for a while now, it is a 1991 80 series with a 40 series fibreglass extra cab body and pickup body. Hopefully I will start a thread showing some pictures of the build up...
