    Camping Stoves

I have a jetfoil for drinks. Lovely bit of kit for water or soup, and you can drink straight from the pot. Very compact, but the cans that fit inside only give about 20 boils. The larger ones like shown above last ages (still on my first one and done several camping trips plus drinks and heating...

    Map Tracking

looking at that one it's done in google maps or google earth. you can add "stops" in google maps to set the route you want, you can also drag the route to use a specific point too (I use this to avoid Paris a lot and go through Reims as google seems to love taking you through Paris). Right...

Help - Centre diff lock not releasing - light going out

Thanks Bob, a very useful post. At least I know what I am up against. Though I think that is way past my technical ability for how long I can have the truck off the road for. At the very least, if something is a little sticky (ie shaft is moving just enough to turn the sensor off but not to...

Help - Centre diff lock not releasing - light going out

had the whole side up on axle stands and that's how I know it's still in. choked the wheels and put her through the box in both forward and reverse, the yellow light goes out, but the centre is still locked. Also been for a drive up and down a local lane with a pair of wheels on the verge, any...

Help - Centre diff lock not releasing - light going out

Been away playing in the mud for the weekend and used the center and rear diff locks in anger for the first time, rear locker is now nice and free and dropping in and out really happily. Put her back in 4h to leave yesterday and the light went out on the dash and then drove home (200+ miles)...

Rockslider and winch mount wants enquiry

mine seemed to have a 2-3mm flang on the end of the chassis rails, so I just trimmed that back, and after bending in the sides of the sump guard it fitted up really nicely. I had to wire brush the ends and re-paint them anyway so that was no biggy, it was the careful grinding of the welds on the...

That grease nipple looks well used! One of the jeep ones went like that a few years back and had "a bit of play" in it! You should've put some grease in it to see if it helped before changing it :D

    knackered 120 engine -trashed piston

Re-seat the valves, a bit on honing on the head, and some araldite on the piston I reckon  Last time I saw a piston like that it was on a 50cc trials bike that the 2 stroke oil mix line blocked on.... the head split in two with that (and I fell off)!

    New feature.....

Taking the 90 down to LC Overland today for some work and she developed an interesting trait..... Is anyone using a dynamic tyre balancing solution.......

Been there, done that, was shat.... and when I popped the tyre off the rim, I took them all out again. Might be okay on a road tyre, but anything that needs a bit of weight and there is just not enough in there without spending a fortune. If your tyre is only maybe 5g out then these will help.

    Kenlowe on a V6

Personally, after having one on the jeep, I would stick to the vc fan, especially with a winch! Only downside is water splashes about when wading, but vc fan is far more effective, and doesn't draw 70a just when you don't need it to! I would consider fitting a kenlowe as an aux fan for...

    D Light - what bulbs

Looking to replace the D light in the dash and wondered at putting LED bulbs in there ? I see it's a "sub Minature 12v" bulb and that the yellow ones are needed for brightness. is that going to cause me an issue with looking at LEDs? I would replace all of them in one go, not just the D one...

    33s vs 35s

    33s vs 35s

I relly need to sort out the photos.... For the tyre carrier, I was thinking similar to the Bestop one I had on the Jeep. attaches to the rear door and in my case, an upright from the bumper (http://www.bestop.com/installation_guides/61960.pdf) so you don't have 2 latches. But that's a later...

The big downside to android for me was getting hold of updates. you only seem to get 1 or 2 updates before the phone is considered obsolete and they don't release a newer version for it. not such a big problem with V2, but you'll still be annoyed that you can't have the latest updates after 6...
