    Check your gutters

You can also (if not already damaged at the front) blow them out with a fine jet on a pressure washer; try from front up & back to clear it - I occasionally have to park near a fir tree & the bl**dy needles get everywhere...

Shayne, that's why I went with this brand. Just got to clear the rest of the jobs above before we can get into tearing it down... Stay safe, all

    Clutch advice please...

Thanks AvW & Chris, much appreciated. Just not looking forward to tearing it down to prove a certain supplier wrong - they reckon they checked & have had NO rejects of an EXEDY clutch despite having sent out dozens... all they would/could offer was for me to pay to remove, return the parts to...

Clutch finally started slipping a around 176K. Had it replaced last week as I'm waiting for back surgery & some VERY learned ;) members suggested getting someone else to sort this due to weight of components etc. Correct clutch for vehicle (one of the very last - March 2001 - 3.0TD motors...

    Roughtrax Steering Rack

Bought a Roughtrax unit just prior to MOT 18 months ago - straightforward fit & good quality. No worries here. Sensible money compared to Toyota OEM. Just for info: when I dealt with Barry at Roughtrax a few month ago regarding wiper mechanism replacement he sorted a deal with Toyota for a...

OK, Sloppy Bush update... Hope a little 'how to' may save someone having to take it to a garage for such a simple job... Here was the problem - this is the state of the passenger side wiper bush (the one which passes up through the bulkhead). Only a little worn  Having had a chat with...

    I have an itch (!)

Yeah, I get the above, but, when I'd only recently bought the Collie, we were over in Ohio on holiday &, as usual talking BS over cars & trucks (also had a Patrol Y61 then). When I showed pics of what we had, our American pals reckoned we were seriously rich to own a Lexus! The only guy who...

    I have an itch (!)

While I'm waiting for Roughtrax to get the wiper assemblies in, I've been mulling over what to do with my Collie... For the past few years, off and on, I've thought of selling it and finding 'something' else (?). It's a 2001 LWB in Narrow body FX spec (cloth trim & seats); Manual 5-speed box, &...

MODVRS, thanks for this info, much appreciated! The actual part is the housing which the LH wiper shaft passes through (& is bolted to the body) and rotates within. I'll look into Amayama; regrettably, this comes as part of the complete assembly & is not listed anywhere as an individual...

    Sloppy Bush... (# 85150-60170)

Just wondering if anyone has a source of - sensibly priced - supply of the above unit? The passenger side alloy sleeve/mounting/bush holder on my 2001 LWB Collie is crumbling due to corrosion. this is pretty much the only problem with the whole truck.Always been one for preventative rather...

    Car Trailer wanted

Karl, I would agree entirely with you there. If I was going for a car-hauler for stuff like LC's or full-size yanks like my wife's G20, I'd want a CT177 too! As it is, for an all-rounder, pulling vehicles with a lower C of G than a big 4x4, the CT167 works very well. Dropsides & big capacity...

    Car Trailer wanted

I have an Ifor Williams CT167G going up for sale. I bought it from a registered dealer & transferred all details to Ifor Williams & TER registers in my name, so it's honest! It's tilt bed & optional dropsides, with short tailboard. Being the 167 it's 7'wide (16'deck length) & has been looked...

Advice please... KZJ95 steering wheel 'clock spring'

OK, finally, an update... Having had a really helpful chat with Simon Houlton (thanks Bob), we had agreed that I'd try a more local supplier (non-Toyota) who had the right part number in stock - allegedly... Nothing happened. Their listing was pulled. Sad Euan... Well, a small...
