Cape Town to London in 10 Days, 13 Hours, 28 Minutes

When we rode down the west coast to DRC in 2010 the answer to that is definitely yes - in a couple of years there will be one tarred road the whole way down :(

'96 LC Colorado LWB breaking for spares

A long shot here - my Tank ('99 LWB 95) has just been in for its MOT and they had to bodge together a drivers side rear bumper light for it to pass but it needs replacing - any chance you have one of those? Thanks Adrian

    Floods

At least the council now has contingency plans - the first flood we lived through (no property flooding thankfully but 3 foot deep in the road) the relevant council employee buggered off for the weekend and took the necessary keys with him :( At the moment Tim has a VERY big swimming pool and I...

    Peacefull?

The Chinese are doing a LOT of building in that neck of the woods :)
  23. A

Enjoy living in the middle of a motorway!

Mind you at least they built the motorway smoothly around those ones. I'd be very worried about driving on those Chinese motorways as the buildings make the roads look like an obstacle course :)

Wasn't there a farmer in Cumbria that did the same thing when the M6 was built?

Crispin, Yes it is - I tend to leave the forum open as one tab in Chrome (I have also seen the same thing in Firefox under the same circumstances - but I suppose that is to be expected - I haven't tried under Explorer)

So the Pretoria Magistrates court is on fire

Yep - it is crazy - they wanted to change Potchefstroom - yep I lived there for 9 long years - to Tlokwe which is the brand name of the local Sorghum beer - even those in the Township there rebelled against that one :) Then they renamed the main street from Church Street (the one with most of...

    How to get around London....

I remember when I was at school (a very very long time ago) when we wanted to ride our bikes to school we had to get our Cycling Proficiency test first - it wasn't too difficult but did teach basic rules of the road and about traffic etc. Maybe they could bring something like that back

    How to get around London....

I had one that when I was on a motorbike at a roundabout and I was indicating to turn left. I looked in both mirrors - nothing, started my turn slightly leaned over and whoosh a cyclist went past my left side straight across - idiot - almost had to put the bike down - if I'd have run over him...

    Question about engine replacement

Geordie-bot - many thanks for your replies to my stupid question - it is really appreciated. What I need to do now is go and think about what to do - well that and ask the financial advisor (i.e. the wife :) ) about how much money we have - the (new radiator) I have is from Roughtrax - would...

    Question about engine replacement

Geordie-boy, I did the test you suggested after taking the beast on a 50 mile round trip so I presume she was warm. When I took off the radiator cap the water was up to the brim which I presume is normal as the water had expanded. The wife then rev'd her to about 4000 rpm and water came out but...

    Question about engine replacement

Geordie-boy, I must say that sounds like a good saturdays entertainment - better than watching Big brother or whatever other cr*p is on :) - Will look into doing that test thanks. Maybe I can get some of the local chavs to take a look for me - goodness knows they need a bath :D Am I right in...
