I own a 2006 LC4 which I really like and have seen a 2001 VX TD in a local dealership which looks quite nice. It's 2 owners with 106,000 miles and appears to be good nick albeit a bit boat like on its suspension. I was just wondering what sort of money it should go for and what are its weak...
I may have posted something similar in the past but once again tempted by a new shape LC despite the best endeavours of my local dealership who seem to think they start at £80k! I know there is a new shape coming in 2014 but is an upgrade worth the price? I probably know the answer but thought...
The arm and dis-arm buttons on both my keys are beginning to fail. I need to be on top of the car to lock and un-lock it. Is it just a case of new batteries? I thought they might be the rechargable type.
I've always been cautious of power upgrades. Must put more strain on everything. Having said that, there are thousands of chipped vehicles out there happily motoring around. I must admit, a bit more power would be very welcome.
Thats a pity. I was hoping to use that as an excuse to upgrade. Having said that, the 120 was a dream again coming down here and has such low miles on it I'd probably be a bit foolish to trade it now just now.
For what it's worth, having had Disco's for years I bought the wife a 120 LC4 last year and have never looked back. We've used it for several 2,000 mile trips to the south of France as well as all the usual local country driving bit and apart from leaking tyre valves (yes it does appear that...
Pressures tested (a week late) and all appears fine. In fact I had to let some air out on a couple of the tyres! Valves may have been the problem after all. Thanks for all the suggestions anyway chaps. :)
£10k for a 120 will mean big miles. Nothing fundamentally wrong with that of course as these motors are happy with big miles if they've been serviced regularly. Someone with a lot more knowledge will be along soon I'm sure. :icon-biggrin:
owning a green badged vehicle does not provide the same reliability as some of our eastern alternatives. I am driving down to the south of France again next month. I'll be taking the LC4 but don't tell any LRO's! :icon-biggrin::icon-biggrin:
Funnily enough there has been some engine staring recently which probably doesn't help the cause. To be fair on an engine that has seen some proper work. ;)
Whenever I drive the LC4 after a week or so of driving my Land Rover Defenders I always get this tiny little feeling of whether I wouldn't be better off having just a couple of Land Cruisers as the family fleet? They are nearly as capable off-road (don't flame me) are more comfortable (by...
Always looking at the latest LC model and thinking that would be lovely, but then come down to earth with a bang when I see what prices the dealers want. The price of 2 of my current 120 doesn't even buy you a nearly new one. I just can't justify it unfortunately. I think us owners of this...
Interesting. Comparable with my recent run down to Cavalaire. I noticed the same inaccuracies with the speedo compared to the Sat Nav too. Made me feel a bit safer from plod when running at a Cruiser indicated 90mph at times. :icon-biggrin:
Its not quite as straight and true to drive and the seats are not as good. Performance and economy are similar. I prefer the looks of the Disco but there are too many of them about. Both feel bomb-proof but the difference I suspect is that the Cruiser really is. I would never buy another...
