    Mystery dashboard light

I suspect that the warning light is indeed related to the towbar. The 'L' sign on Shayne's light could well mean just that. Problem solved! Many thanks to all for the feedback.

    Mystery dashboard light

Dear Land Cruiser fans, my 1997 J95 has a green LED light built in the space between the headlight beam control level switch and the instrument panel light control switch (according to my manual, this would be used for the door locking switch in cars without power windows). It looks like the...

    Looking for part number

Oops, having checked the part number, it seems that you've given me the one for the gasket between the license plate lamp lens and the cover. I meant the rubber seal between the license plate lamp cover and the back door. Somehow, this part doesn't show on the EPC.

    Looking for part number

Dear Landcruiser enthusiasts, A minor issue: I am looking to replace the rubber seal between license plate lamp cover and back door on my 1997 J95 but can find the item on Toyota's EPC (now fortunately on-line). Does anyone have a number for this mystery part? Thanks, Tempur

    heater control unit illumination

Thanks for the reply but I don't think the issue is a bulb that's not working. What's puzzling me is that the light coming from behind the left control is clearly whitish-yellow whereas the light behind the centre and right control is blue (shouldn't be blue, I know, but somewhere I read that...

    heater control unit illumination

Bit of a puzzle here: the left side of the heater A/C control unit went dark a few months ago and I went about to replace the two hidden bulbs with two (blue) new ones (the ones that came out are clear with a green removable cap). Everything works but the unit looks like a Christmas tree: the...

    Tail Lights conversion

Thanks for the most useful advice. My main reason for wanting to move up the lights is that the bumper set-up is rather exposed to the elements (rusty bulb holders, etc.)

    Tail Lights conversion

Thanks. I hadn't realised that the mounted spare wheel could block the tail lights from certain angles. Better check with the authorities before I change anything.

    Tail Lights conversion

Dear LC enthusiasts, I'm considering moving the tail lights on my 1997 J9 from their current location (bumper) to where they are supposed to be (next to the tailgate). I understand that Toyota changed the lay out to comply with legislation in Europe at the time (maximum height of lights) but...

    Interior lighting

Dear LC enthusiasts, I hate to bother with something seamingly insignificant but I have started to the gloomy dashboard in my 1997 Landcruiser by replacing all the burnt-out lightbulbs illuminating the various switches. I can't seem to find, however, the bulb that lights the left side of the...

    colour code lower body cladding

Dear Land Cruiser enthusiasts, I am planning to touch up some scratches on the bumpers of my 1997 Landcruiser 95 but am confused by the colour identification: My colour code is K14, which should be 'blue royale' or 'saphire blue' (8L7) for the body paint and UCAA1 for the lower body cladding...
