Hi, can anyone get me a Toyota part number on this cable ? Its on a 1993 1hdt auto and goes down to the auto box think it’s for throttle position. Much appreciated

Took a look at that cable, after pulling up on it this is what was revealed. Broke frayed and full of rusty water. You where on the money Chris

Going to attempt this on a mates 80, just got to find a new cable now.

Or 78 series brakes, I have both front and rear 78 axles on my 70 which gives me front vented discs and rear disc brakes with the added bonus of a rear e locker . Thinking the older lj (round lamp) have slightly different axles spring/shocker location etc so 78 ones may not fit

Thanks Michael, it’s only done 130k. Oil looks at right level and right colour doesn’t smell burnt. Il get it back and on the ramp and check out the solenoids, thanks for your reply

Hi all, a friend of mine is trying to sell his late fathers 1993 4.2 80 series. Someone has been to buy it but said it wouldn’t drive home because the auto box is faulty. I tried it this evening and takes some getting out of 1st and doesn’t want to shift up very often, once it gets in 2nd it...

So decided to pop the passenger rear glass out to see the extent of the rust. Going to mask off with shot blast proof tape and see what I’ve got left.

That’s awesome ! And gotta be said that those daihatsu motors are indestructible! Had a few fourtraks before I seen the light ha !

Then welded in the box section sill

Then made and welded in the gusset that had rotted away.

Then made and welded in a plate for the rotted part of the inner sill

Cut the sill out and rotted part of inner sill.

It’s been a while and thought I’d give an update, even though I’m way behind compared to what stage it’s actually at. Time for the passenger side...
