Glow Plug Broke on removal - Help anyone...

As long as your battery is good your engine should turn over fast on the starter, check it against another Cruiser if you can, when the engine is warm 1 or 2 cylinder's will be firing immediately the engine begins turning assisting the starter, making it much easier for the starter to turn over...

Update and hopefully a conclusion, I got the new pedal switch, checked both switches side by side, there is 2 contacts on the switch, the contact which is closed with the pedal in rest position was failing and sometimes made a high resistance connection, the spring was a lot weaker also. Fitted...

Sticky brakes question - help needed

Hi Crispin No noise at all. just drives as normal then when all 4 brakes got hot all hell broke loose, smoke from all 4 wheels, I don't really understand how stability systems work exactly but I though they would release the braking to some wheels and actual brake pressure would come from...

Landcruiser 120 Engine siezed, Jap imported engine fitted, Question ?

Yes that is the sensible way to go, if it were my mine I would continue checking it too, I will tell the owner gently as I don't want to worry them unnecessarily, as you say it only takes a few minutes, and they can educate their mechanic to do this extra check. The Landcruiser 120 is a...

Landcruiser 120 Engine siezed, Jap imported engine fitted, Question ?

Yes you're right - better safe than sorry, but it would be nice to give them the all clear as the 120 had been very reliable till this happened, but I will follow up with the engine number check and also keep a listen out for any other of Mr T's secret recalls.:icon-evil:

Lack of power and shudders when ignition turned off

Hi Steve I'm not as experienced as most people here but my 90's done over 250k miles and tank filter been OK, from reading "here" the tank filter is just a "mesh bag" around the fuel pick up, as the guy's here call it "tea bag filter". Firstly - the rough shut down happens on mine sometimes...

How can I get better rear brakes?

I think the brakes don't work (very well) when the engine's not running, the servo would not be getting vacuum, just like when a car's been towed you must push VERY hard on the pedal to achieve any braking at all, otherwise sorry I can't help. (sorry I'm assuming the engine was not running,) ...Bob

Strong Diesel Smell and Lazy Starting - 3.0td

Hi Rob I fixed the same problem on New Year's Eve by coincidence, without removing the tank, after 3 months of wrongly blaming battery/connections , glowplugs, sensors, fuel filter assembly, narrowed problem down to air in diesel, and then with reading E.L.C.O Club info traced to the same fuel...
