    1997 hdj 80 for sale

Hi everyone. It pains me to say that my dream car is up for sale due to ill health. Built by Julian at Overland Cruisers a few years ago, no expense has been spared. I would like the off road trailer and roof tent along with snomaster fridge freezer and drop slide to go as one lot. Right hand...

    Windscreen

Indeed. We hadn't met him before the windscreen fitting, such a nice guy.
  24. froggy Steve

Didn't know you could do this!

That's a cracking idea, not heard of that before.....might beca bit behind the times over here!

    Windscreen

We have a new customer who owns a windscreen replacement company, not on the uk mainland...... For a joke I asked if he could get me an 80 series windscreen as ours was delaminating in the bottom corners. He has bought a house that we look after (over the Internet without actually seeing it) and...

80 air con, compressor not kicking in

Just behind the headlight and in front of the battery passenger side (if r/h drive) is a plug. Mine had come undone after a dune jump in Morocco I left it for a year fearing a dead system, but after the ear bashing from the mrs, I took headlight out and found it....plugged it back together and...

Good thinking there! Glad about the bedding, save a lot of space in the back of the truck. Cheers!

    Roof tent choice

Andy, with the ikamper 2.0? Can you leave you sleeping bag/quilt and a couple of pillows in when its folded up? Some say yes, others no.....be a PITA if not. Also, I have a Patiot roof rack with no bars across, just wide slats running front to back. Would mounting by drilling through tent deck...

    Roof tent choice

Hi Andrew. Thanks! Just the response I wanted. I have sort of made up my mind, but needed confirmation I was heading in the right direction! Looks like a perfect set up for us. I will check out the other name when I have finished work for the day. Cheers!

    Roof tent choice

Thanks! I'm in France but I'm glad you like the awning room. With our hannibal awning and room we have to venture outside to go to bed. Normally no problem, but if its raining, a right PITA! We have our 2 dogs to accommodate, as well as a small table and a couple of chairs, so the awning room...

    Roof tent choice

Ok, I have a James Baroud that's many years old now, still good but having to replace mesh in the windows etc. So, for next year, we have been looking at options. A Bundutec electric one or the iKamper x2. The Bundutec has a pokey little room that would house the porta loo, that's about it. The...

    Fuel ?

Dave in Spain said something about a spring in the pump could be broken if it does that....Dave2000?
  39. froggy Steve

    Fuel ?

It was easier to let the walbro pump do it for me
  40. froggy Steve

    Fuel ?

Tbh, it was on there for a few years before I got it. My understanding is that they are fitted to aid fuel flow at crazy angles......or to 'disguise' an existing problem I know I tried to bypass the pump with some steel tube but that didnt work. It could be the tube was smaller diameter than the...

Update!.... She lives! Hurrah for local farm machinery fixing shops! 'O' ring went in (after 2nd attempt) primed the fuel system and she fired right up. Test drive went well, pulled cleanly through each gear to 4k (well not in top). Must be in line for a chicken dinner and a bj now....... Will...

I didnt cos it went in all on it's own!

    Fuel ?

I've just been into another mower/tractor repair place and they had the exact 'o' ring for the job! I also bought some silicon for deisel fuel so might not need that now! Happy days! Just got to finish cleaning 11 pools and then can hopefully get it going again

    Fuel ?

The filter was a bit crappy, but not enough to block it. I think all the moving cursing and bashing kicked it back into life!
  45. froggy Steve

    Fuel ?

OK Thanks. Will pop into our local halfrauds place (think tiny) to see what they have.
  46. froggy Steve

    Fuel ?

Thanks. Popped into local John Deere dealer ge had one that's a tiny bit small. I reckon it would stretch over the upper part, and with the fuel resistant sealant / gasket stuff, it might work!
  47. froggy Steve

    Fuel ?

Do you think that will work? I'd have to make sure everything was oil free and let it dry out I guess. It's worth a go. It's only temp until new pump arrives mid August.......

I will try and find something near us......there's not much tbh. I'll hit google and see what there is, good tip thanks

    Fuel ?

Ha ha ha! I took it off, cleaned the filter, the 'o' ring disintegrated! I spent an hour looking for something that will do. In the end I decided to by - pass the pump with a steel tube....at this point the truck wont run, but the f in pump is now working ☹. But, as the 'o' ring is buggered...
