    Crushers, I'm afraid you may be missing the point. Weather Japan halted production of the 80 series in 1996 or 1997 or 1998 - whatever, the point I was trying to make was the South American plant in Venezuela continued production for another 10 years or so, up until 2006 - 2008 ish. I DID DO...

    Wikipedia says that 80 series production in Japan ended in 1997 (these were sold in the US up to 1997 and in Canada as Lexus LX450 for 1996 & 1997 model years only), but the 80 series was produced up to 2008 in Venezuela only (neighboring country, can you export from here too?) The grey one...
