Parrot CK3000 Evolution bluetooth hands free kit

Recently removed from our RAV4 where it was working perfectly. The only fault is that the plastic top of one of the buttons is missing, the button underneath still works and the stick on mount for the mic broke when I removed it. A bit of tape or sugru would work fine instead. Comes with the...

Low roof bars for 120 series?

yep, those are the sort of things I've been seeing and pondering making my own. Aluminium would be lighter but steel is easier to weld at home :)

Low roof bars for 120 series?

I've been seeing some folks in the US with roof bars that mount to the inside of the roof rails on a 120 which makes for a much lower profile mount for things such as a roof box. Over here, all I seem to be able to find are the ones that sit on top of the roof rails and have large clamps that...

    Idea for light bar mounting.

That's a really neat solution. will have to take some measurements and figure out if I can fit mine there and still have room for the number plate. I wonder if there's a minimum height for the plate to be.

Non Toyota source for rear door sealing strip?

OK then, current state of play. A seal from Toyota is about £160. I can get the same genuine seal shipped from the UAE for around £105. only place that has anything similar is Seals Direct who have a rear door seal for a VW T5. It's not exactly the same but you can see how close it is in...

    Idea for light bar mounting.

I did think about the number plate mount but as everything is plastic, I think it'd just bounce around too much and possibly stress/crackt he bumper. The bar would sit just above the number plate and the light bar would be forward off the plate by the depth of the bar, probably 2-3 inches. Is...

Non Toyota source for rear door sealing strip?

Good advice, thanks. Given the current weather, I've just cleaned up as best I can for now. When I get round to doing it properly, I'll get the heat gun out and dry it all thoroughly. Planning to get it all rubbed down, rust treated, primered and top coated under neath everything.

It's funny what you find when you get a new (used) vehicle.

Ah, now I hadn't thought about tow stuff. The tow bar I have has a single connector, not the usual double one you'd expect for caravan towing. There's no buzz on indicators when everything is hooked up though. My last truck did that but this one doesn't.

    Idea for light bar mounting.

Yesterday I spend a bit of time looking around the front of the truck to see if I could figure out where to mount a bracket for a light bar. As the bumper is all plastic, that's out as I don't want it bouncing around. There's not many places to bolt something onto easily. I was looking down...

It's funny what you find when you get a new (used) vehicle.

Was going over the engine bay today, just checking for rattles. Found the battery clamps a bit loose, probably whoever installed the batteries didn't have a long 10mm socket. Sorted that out. Found the box for a headlight bulb stuffed down by the headlight housing. Found two fused power cables...

Non Toyota source for rear door sealing strip?

Pulled the seal off yesterday to have a good look around. Cleaned up all the dirt etc around the seal and used a rag to clean out the seal grooves as well. The dirt only seems to be along the bottom of the door and when I lifted the carpet in the back, the dampness is only along the edge...

I think I'd rather go with a new seal than second hand, given the age of the vehicle. Rob, thanks, I'll have to have a look and see if I can spot any other water ingress spots. Thanks for the tip.

thank you both for those links, I'll get in touch with both. I also found https://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/index.asp mentioned on another forum, always useful to have multiple options to check out.

    An alarming question :)

I've found the switches cheap from China https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/84231-60070-Door-Courtesy-Light-Lamp-Switch-For-Toyota-Lexus-Scion/401968504111?hash=item5d97309d2f:g:8HIAAOSwqj9bdUTP so will buy a full set, just takes a while for them to arrive. Will get a better look in that compartment...

    An alarming question :)

It's in the section where the jack is stored. It's raining at the mo but when it stops I'll have a better look in there. There's trailer wiring and I'm wondering if there's a cable hole that the water is getting in. That said, the area I can see in that pocket seems dry.

    An alarming question :)

I'm going to buy 5 of them and have them on hand to replace them all, it's an easy cheap job and might as well keep on top of it.

    An alarming question :)

However, I can't find anyone online selling the switches that isn't in China. Other than Mr. T, does anyone have a UK source for these?

Non Toyota source for rear door sealing strip?

Yeah, the joys of buying older vehicles. There's bound to be things that need doing and I'll work my way through them. Everything seems fine mechanically and it's had regular annual servicing all the way through it's life up to now. Bodywork is always going to be the thing to need to keep on top...

Non Toyota source for rear door sealing strip?

Found that the rear edge of the carpet on my 2005 LC4 is damp. Pulled the weather seal back and it's wet and rusty under there. There's a a couple of splits in the weather seal so I'd like to replace it. Toyota want about £160 for it and I'm guessing there must be a cheaper alternative out...

Ordered some of the vessel screwdrivers this morning. Meanwhile, took the door switch out and found it covered in rust and full of water. Cleaned it up and blasted it through with contact cleaner but still couldn't get it to show any continuity so will be ordering another one of those.

Tony, thanks very much for the reply, I'll go and take a look. Interesting about the screws, I've not heard of JIS screws before. Sounds like a set of drivers might be a worthwhile investment in not chewing up the fitted screws.

    An alarming question :)

Funny you should mention that. Odd thing happened the other day, I was driving and the door open light would flash occasionally and, as it was night, I noticed the light above the rear door flashing on at the same time. Checked the door and it was solidly shut but the light switch was in 'door'...
  43. M

    An alarming question :)

Thanks Tony, that's interesting. What's difficult is that the door is already open. It seems strange to have to shut the door and open it again to make the alarm stay off. I unlock, open the door and the thing rearms with the door still open, which seems daft. Mine's an '05.
  44. M

    An alarming question :)

Only had my 120 for a couple of weeks but I can't figure out something with the alarm. If I unlock the truck and don't start it, it rearms the alarm after about 30 seconds. Today I unlocked it, opened the boot and was sorting some stuff in the back. After 30 seconds I hear the locks cycle and as...

BFG K02 wet road performance questions/alternatives

Thanks for that. The Yoko was one of the others I looked at but the KO2 seems like it would be better on a muddy field. Definitely on the shortlist though. Thanks.

BFG K02 wet road performance questions/alternatives

I'm replacing the cheap tyres that came on my '05 120. I live on a farm and probably do 80-90% of my driving on roads with some towing of a livestock trailer and time on farm tracks and occasionally across fields. There may be a bit more off road going camping etc but that's pretty limited in...

    is a 2005 120 LC4 OBD2 compliant?

Might also just buy an old small laptop, it's only ever going to be used for Techstream so not attached to the internet. Won't need to upgrade it as long as Techstream works.
