Hi Karl W, if you're out and about, any luck with sourcing a Gearbox yet? I still haven't found your telephone number, so could you forward it to me via text to my mobile number 07763 668896 please? Cheers Renate

Any recommendations for local 4x4 breakers in the south? I.e. Dorset?

And yeah Karl, I DO want a 'compatible' autogearbox! Do you think you can do me one? :icon-smile: Also, I had to re-register on the forum, and this was done, like just a few days ago, sorry pal Cheers

Hi y'all I would assume than, the mine would be an A442 as it was first registered in September 1991, so manufacture date would probably be earlier than Paul's. Do I have to have the gearbox removed before I can look to see the VIN plate number? Beast is at the garage still. Cheers

Hi y'all Update. I've been mulling over the 'market trends' for a cruiser like mine - it has kept it's value - i bought it when it was 10 years old for £9000, I have compared the prices for a purchase of a 10 year old and the price is about 9000 for a 'good' one, so have been rethinking its...

Any recommendations for local 4x4 breakers in the south? I.e. Dorset?

Hi y'all Any of you cruiser-heads who know me have any (personal) recommendations for good 4x4 breakers in this neck of the woods? i.e. Dorset? specifically Bournemouth? Have begun to trawl through our local advertisers and newspapers to look for someone who'll give me a reasonable return for an...

    Autogearbox

Yes, tried all those. It had been having issues now and again for about 2-3 years, at the time I didn't think much about it. But in recent days(last week on 4 occasions) sometimes its moved sometimes it hasn't, at the moment it cannot be moved. In my opinion (which doesn't stand for much) it is...

    White landcruiser for sale, 1991,

Hi y'all Thought I'd post this here - hope y'all don't mind. I've decided to sell my Trusty Steed (used to be). I've checked Autotrader and have decided to sell and invest the monies gained thereoff into another Trusty Steed, about 1992 in age (yes, I know, I can't resist the 'call of the...

Selling da Walrus, any offers? for parts/breaking?

Hi y'all I've decided to sell my Trusty Steed (used to be). I've checked Autotrader and have decided to sell and invest the monies gained thereoff into another Trusty Steed, about 1992 in age (yes, I know, I can't resist the 'call of the wild'). The lowest price today (so far) is £2,995. I've...

No Karl, no warning lights at all - very strange. Would make some sense re torque converter or the plates in the box - I didn't think of that until you mentioned it - thanx! there may be light at the end of the tunnel then....if I'm lucky. Cheers

    Autogearbox

Hi Andy My favoured 4x4 garage bloke has been driving it around his yard; when he'd received it to look at it worked, so he's doing a few runs and trying it in different gears to see if the same thing happens; he said he'd be able, through driving it, to feel how it handles and how it changes...

Hi Karl, Yep, fluid was replaced new literally less than a year ago - 6 months maybe. I assume an autogearbox has a filter somewhere? Cheers

    Autogearbox

Yaa Karl Not sure whether I can realistically continue to run the poor thing. Costing me far too much. Still thinking about selling it though - £2,000 maybe? as it is? since I have no idea how much an old walrus is actually worth...

Hi y'all Has any of you had major work done on your 80 series auto gearbox recently? Ma Beast broke down and it is suspected it is an auto gearbox problem, so its currently at a garage giving me time to evaluate whether it is time to reconsider owning ma White Thunder.... Cost-wise any ideas as...
