    Red and green scv swap

Not familiar with these as I have 120 with one long scv - so some thoughts. Did you have a good clean all around the areas before removing old scv's? Any introduced sh/t in the pump could give problems. Did the new go back in the same place and electrical connections checked ( I don't think.its...

Methods - Re-sticking Rear arch mouldings trim to the quarter panel

It should also be mentioned that IF Tigerseal/MHP in particular is used, they are not silicone based and are used in the car industry for bonding panels etc, amongst many other purposes people find, interior or exterior. White spirit is not good on these.

Methods - Re-sticking Rear arch mouldings trim to the quarter panel

MisterCruiser, whichever you use, it will grab quick, and iirc there are a few retaining screws in the wrap around lip nearest the tyres. They should hold the right location when refitting, alternatively or as well as, get someone to help, park parallell about 6ft from a wall, position the...

Auto Gear Stick loose on 4th and 1st gears

Hello and welcome ! I had this on my 120, the spring is weak and the plunger not long enough and gets ejected, putting them back in produces the same results after a very short time. Unless the nylon collar in yours is broken, (not just a small separate part) there is/was a guy on PradoPoint...

Water dripping on the passenger side down on the floor mat (LC200 2008)

+1. There are trees near my land, and this time of year they float all over the lc, resulting in scuttle, wiper spindles and bonnet hinge clearing once a fortnight. Wet leaves stick to everything.

    Accelerating issue

I did mine from the top too. I looked at doing it through the side, but personally, even with the wheel off and splash guards removed, (more work), there wasnt enough clear straight ahead access between rail and inner wing, especially kneeling or sat on a box. Everyone is a different shape/size...

To Do or Not To Do - Injectors

As you have already found out, official guides are not always correct (torque in this case). Another member had that trouble with Haynes? I think, that resulted in a snapped stud. Accelerating issue

Denso is original fitment, Toyota buy in products. The price discrepancy would be between Toyota listed parts and the same part obtained elsewhere from a reputable source, in most cases you will be paying a main stealer premium hence the difference. Be aware depending on source, just because an...

    Accelerating issue

Fuel filter as above would be an easy place to start if no info, and considering the age of vehicle and the probability the scv is original, a change from the short to the modern long version would not go amiss anyway, in the long run. Plenty of info on changing that on here, some very recently...

    Glow pug circuit

If you drop any screws they inevitably end up on the sump guard, (oem or aftermarket) where you cant see or get at them. A telescopic wand type magnet is invaluable here to swipe the area from either above or below, bearing in mind it has a natural desire to grab a steel sump guard too (or...

    Glow pug circuit

There was lots of swearing with mine - getting the wiring coupling unclipped was a bugger for me, which should have been so simple. Usual Toyota press tab in and pull both halves apart, but I couldn't seem to get tab pressed in far enough to release while I was hanging down over the wing Karl...

    Lost key

Thinking about this again, I think we have all missed something here, even if Edd had the number and managed to get a key cut from somewhere, there would be no chip in it to re-programme anyway ? In the normal course of things getting another key cut (because original is worn/broken), that would...

    Lost key

With your lc details - reg/vin number etc Toyota should be able to supply new key/s and programme them to your vehicle. All at a premium Toyota cost of course ! Not sure what they mean by change computers, assume they mean ECU, another eye watering money making scheme meaning all locks/keys...

    Drivers window fuse location.

Well done in sorting the rear diff Tony, and without any cost !! Yeah, some of those mentioned in above posts have been known to migrate to sites like this, and pm members for emails to try and do a 'deal' EBay do give some protection, but it's not that easy when a dodgy dealer argues the toss...

    Drivers window fuse location.

Scammers and idiots always have been rife on any social media Tony - sometimes caught out by their own lack of knowledge and ignorance, and the smarmy b'stard's saying it's worth less than asking price can be a small business owner that will find fault with everything for low price, only to put...

    Toyota Dealer or local?

As others said, find a small independent (if you can). Mechanics (proper ones)...

Rear Door & Stay sub assy

Stay/locking assembly looks similar to my 120, and there's a bit of a knack to it with fingers while moving the door slightly to engage, same to disengage. The instructions on the yellow label don't tell you to move the door slightly, as it's a manual engage/disengage. As regards the door not...

I noticed you said interior was disconnected in an earlier thread/post when DH described. Are you sure it hasn't been bumped parked out on the road, you wouldn't know unless there was noticeable damage, you not being there ? Yes, heavy lorries/traffic could rock it, mine went off once in the...

    Interior alarm sensor disabling

Has someone bumped your lc? I ask this as for want of a better phrase/explanation, there are 2 alarms on a 120, One senses movement inside, the other physical disturbance from outside - one sounds the horn(s) under the bonnet, the other is a siren positioned elsewhere Other than that info, I...

    Landcruiser120 flip keyfob

As I read it, it's a blank that has to be cut ? A lot of specialist places that cut keys won't do a key supplied, as they say metal may be too hard/unknown and buggers their machine. A sales ploy to supply one of their own (not in this case) and lose a key cutting sale ?

What wheels will fit my 120

Tidy work Tony ! You mentioned how the wheel paint job would last without the lacquer - you made the right decision doing it. I had my wheels (5) professionally stripped and etch primed, 18 months/2 years ago, and did the rest of the paint job myself which came up great. My big mistake was being...

Do all 120 Prado's have a rear LSD? Mine fails the "both wheels spin same direction" when jacked up test

IIRC, although I couldn't swear to it, when I was looking for my lc3 I particularly wanted cloth and the locker, and some lc3 I looked at had leather and traction control instead. Maybe there is another lc3owner who could confirm or not, as I'm pretty sure another member has the leather and no...

    Interior alarm sensor disabling

Dave's got me thinking on that as its so simple, I'm fed up with having the windows open parked in the yard, shut them at night to find a bloody fly or something has got trapped and triggered the alarm. Usually very late and blaring away.

front arb bush 2 part numbers

I did the Roughtrax ones on the 120, made by Whiteline, a US company that has a good history of stuff like this. I liked the constituency of them, and the 'ride' seems an improvement on the old normal rubber ones, although they were showing signs of age.

    RoughTrax A2A Exhaust Systems Experience?

+ 1 I've done the same on several vehicles inc 2 LC's, when the exhausts were far from new but not terrible rust - just wire brushed all those weak areas where original welding attracts rust, and did the same as Juddian. I had some left over vht stove paint which I lashed on after too.
