I have a 2004 Sahara that has a loud clicking noise coming from behind the centre of the dash. I have removed what I can but could not locate it. It comes and goes. It sounds like plastic gears stripping or a solonoid flipping out. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Cheers.

I would try greasing the tail shaft spline. I find mine does this and needs greasing every couple of months or so. I believe it is quite common on these to dry out and stick. Hope all goes well thommo

Hi guys, well after purchasing my own ecu reader, I was able to identify exactly what the code was. It was actually the bank 2 sensor 1 heating coil failure. Replaced sensor and all is good. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Finally took a couple of shots of the hundy at work yesturday. Found another couple of the old fj60. She was a beautiful truck. Done over 450000k's when I sold her and not a spanner needed.

It's not identical, but not too big and bulky. Can get a better photo tomorrow if your interested.

Have you checked the tail shaft and uni's? Not a mate playing a trick with a zip tie?.

Hi Ben, it is a 2004 Sahara.

This was my 55 as purchased. Ended up it had been bogged and flogged, so it ended up with a full fiberglass front end and paint in metalic red mica. Will try and find some more photos. Will also take some of the hundy this weekend and upload.

Hi to all. I got my first fj55 in 1989. Upgraded to a hj60 in 1996 and finally got my v8 100 series Jan this year. Have tried all types in between and now I'm happy once again. Love reading sooo much info and would like to think I may help somone with an issue of there own at some stage.

Hope I'm not out of line, but could this be why the original horns don't work??? Maybe try testing original on battery and check that a relay hasn't shorted out?
