Silly question probably but how much is one from Toyota ? Lots of people i know had turbos rebuilt for their Toyota Supras but most don't seem to last anything like as long as a new one does. On the Supra they are around £1200 each

Not read that about Toyota saying not to use it, that's a little worrying, no point in saving money on fuel if you cause costly problems elsewhere. I've found another one with very low miles and not yet converted to lpg but having second thoughts now

I've got a project on the go at the moment restoring my 1994 soft dash Range Rover, body off job :) It's almost ready for the body to come off the chassis now, maybe by the middle of next week

Yes dropping it into low range at speed wouldn't be nice, i was thinking more about going into HL, 30 mph ok or lower ?

There's a sticker on the door which says up to 5 mph to lock the diff or is that just referring to the rear diff as it says do not operate diff lock switch if wheels are spinning. I assume your referring to the centre diff ? if so up to what speed can that be engaged at ?

My local garage plugged my LC3 into their diagnostics system when i had and airbag light come on, i wouldn't pay Toyotas rates if i could help it. Luckily my local garage is owned by a good mate so just cost me a couple of beers :) They cleared to fault put out the light and its been fine...

30 mpg on run perhaps, mine is low 20's for local driving

I don't know what filter was fitted and i'm somewhat surprised this could be the problem but at the moment it appears to be the case A genuine filter from Toyota is only £16 after discount so it's really not worth fitting anything else. Lesson learned for the future

Well it would appear that the filter was to blame, i left the cruiser parked up from around 19:00 hrs yesterday to 16:00 hrs today, i flicked the key and the oil light was out very quickly :thumbup: to cir287, i owe you a pint or two :)

One question i have Does this engine have hydraulic lifters or solid buckets ?

New filter from Toyota is fitted and topped the oil up so we'll see in the morning.

I have every confidence in the mechanic, he is a good friend and the garage owner and also a very good mechanic. I shall just get a new filter from Toyota and get it changed and see what happens

It had an oil and filter change very recently which has me concerned as i don't think a genuine Toyota filter was used It has full service history all previously Toyota bar the last one done by my local village garage who i know very well and have never had an issue with in over 20 yrs It's...

Thanks for the reply Crispin I've been in the service manual part and nothing comes up for me, my pc says page not found. I spotted the lubrication pdf 1998-2007 which has an oil pressure check and some figures but what engine is that for

Yes lol I was with him when he plugged his comp into it and went through the system. The airbag light comes on correctly when you turn the ignition on and goes off once you start the engine :)

Pleased to say it's still working as it should be so god knows why that happened
