Have a 2004 landcruiser 120 3dr.
Seems to be very roamy and wandery on the steering especially on back roads. Anybody have any experiance if this?
Thanks

Worn bushes in the control arms on the rear axle can give this feeling, and not where you might first look. Ask someone who replaced their steering rack bushes first! Other common wear point worth checking is the lower half of the steering column, there are 2 UJs on it that will get sloppy. Could be bushes on the front lower wishbones too (and might as well check top front arm bushes too). Quite a few things really, but you should be able to check them all by levering with a big screwdriver.

Alignment good? toeing out can feel very uncomfortable, exacerbated if there's any wear in the suspension bushes, and agree with Rob Cowell, the rear end can affect the handling badly if the rear axle is floating around on worn bushes.
Tyres decent and pressures between 30 and 35ish?
Shockers in good order?

Jeep was only after having £1500 spent on things like bushings and shocks. Tyres decent pressure. Will double check that the rear bushings are ok
