Dash light problem

Hi all, I have a 1996 Prado import kzj95, after jump starting a friend's caravanette last night I've noticed that when I start my engine the pitch/roll and compass display lights up as normal, however, when I switch my headlights on the light on that display goes out whereas it usually stays lit. Can anyone help please?
