Hi,
Been lurking for a while first question.
I have an 02 manual 4.2td 100 series. Not long after I bought it, it starting revving really high in between gears, it's OK from cold but as it warms up the rev's get to the 3,000 mark between gear changes.
Now here is what I think may be a clue to someone who may know these vehicles, the fuse that controls the dash blew and then the vehicle ran like a dream. As soon as the fuse was replaced it started revving between gears again.
I live in the middle of nowhere (West Australia) and the local mechanic hasn't got a fault reader and the only other one he has heard of they changed the clutch and that seemed to work. I don't want spend a $2K plus on a maybe.
Anyone heard of this before or have an idea?
Thanks
