stuzbot those buttons on the dash for your aerial are for when you are off-roading. You can lower the height of the aerial so it doesn't get damaged on trees,etc. It doesn't switch the aerial off and will probably reset itself when you turn the ignition off . The only way to stop the thing working is to diconnect the aerial relay which is behind your centre consul where the dash and consul meet or disconnect the light blue wire going to the back of your radio to stop the relay energising when you turn the radio on.
