I need to replace my engine in my 08LC. According to all junkyards and ebay, they say 08-10 is the only one that will work(direct fit).

How is an 08-10 different than 11+? What modifications would I need to do to make a 11+ engine work??????

Thank you in advance!

There were maybe 7 different engines being used in various landcruiser's in 2008. Which one did you have ?

3ur-fe 5.7. The only one we got here in the states.

If the sensors are in the correct places in respect of the original engine then the mechanical part would be the same.. some times to fit the sensors off the old engine onto the newer one would make the ecu etc recognise the correct signals.

Early engines (until 2010) have a potential issue with high oil consumption. The reason for that is a failed vacuum pump. The updated version of the vacuum pump never caused any problems

If this is the case isn’t it better to have 2011+ engine if it fits?
