Well on a recent trip around the North of China, we went through Heilongjiang province.
Heilongjiang is top North East, up by Russia.
One of the places we went to, was Daqing. (pronounced Darching)
Darching is also known as "Oil City"
These oil pumps, called "Beam Pumps" or "Nodding Donkey's"
They are averywhere, and there really are thousands of them.

By the shopping malls,

And even amongst the apartment blocks.
