i'm on the island for the next week and fancy doing some lane's . Been past a few places that look like usable tracks . . If it's a byway is that a green lane? . . Any body know ov any decent routes . Or does anyone fancy meeting up? .

Check carefully, there is the long one called the Tennyson Trail and is about 13km but was closed sometime ago due to some idiots in a stolen Pajero charging along it and killing a load of sheep. Might be open again now though.

There is another near the chalk pits on the downs behind Shide which is good but does get very tight.

All the lanes are crossed by roads many times and the locals love to complain so the old bill just wait for you when you cross the road. The TRO's are well sign posted.

went to the knighton sand pit today . Watched the local 4x4 club do some trials . Then on way home found a Byway and drove it . It actually took me near to the site we are on . Was byway B21 it's only about a mile long . I'm itching to get out and do some long routes
