No!
Take it off to clean it. Using a spray in situ will send the gunk into the combustion chamber with potentially catastrophic results...

There's videos of using oven cleaner to remove the gunk with the parts removed from the engine. Never done it (or watched it) myself though.

EGR was removed when the intercooler was fitted ... so it's not required right?
