From what I’ve found these are quite a rare item/ option and only found on jdm LC’s.

So me making a thread about repairing them is like a how to guide on picking up rocking horse sh!t.

But if it helps one google searcher in 13 years time then thats good.

They came on a breaker I recently bought. The passenger side one would work sometimes and the drivers side one did nothing.

Drivers side: turned out the electrical contacts came away in the sensor/ turn table bit. Dab of super glue to keep them down, gears re-greased and oiled, job done.

Passenger side needed a wee push and it would fold. With lack of use the base part that turns had far too much resistance, causing the worm gear to spin on the motor shaft. WD40 and everything oiled, works again.

Might make another thread when I retrofit them to my truck. I have other pictures for anyone else toiling with repairs.

Now for the fun part of fitting them.

There is an extra plug at the drivers door loom, 4 wires for the mirror. This is different to mine so traced the wires back to the passenger door loom plug.

I was taking the dashboard out of the breaker anyway so a hour later I had the 4 wires out (de-pinned from plug) ready to fit to mine.

I’ll tape it up nearly and run along the floor/ centre console loom rather than going behind the dash.

Complete drivers and passenger door looms out with modules, then I’ve just to run the extra single blue wire from the switch to the module. Won’t bother with taking it out the main loom, I’ll use the pins either end though.
