Key fob

Hi there I have 1999 j90 Colorado and today I noticed the key fob wasn’t working so I put a new battery in and the little red light flashed for a short while then the light stays on the fob I’m not sure if this needs programming to the vehicle would anyone be able to possibly point me in the right direction thank you kindly

Is it the TVSS3B alarm/remote locking system (a separate fob with two buttons)? If it is then changing the battery in the fob doesn't (shouldn't) wipe the rolling code from the alarm ECU unless you've pressed one of the buttons with the battery removed. Try pressing either button twice while standing close the the vehicle.

If the light stays on take the fob apart again and wash the rubber buttons which are sicking down .

Stand by your drivers door and hold both lock/unlock fob buttons down and count to 30 to reset .
