Thanks for the bells and whistles Chas, my post was a bit drab for this time of year! I went down with a terrible cold last night, just my luck for the holidays! :icon-cry: Still, a good excuse for nonstop hot toddies and copious amounts of mulled wine! Have a good un matey!

All the best to you & yours too Clive - hope the cold fails to materialise :icon-cool:

Merry Christmas to everyone. At work till Christmas eve then back on 2nd Jan. Booked the time off Jan at start of this year!! Looking forward to some family time.

Its christmas eve and the cupboards , freezer and fridge are bulging with food . I haven't eaten all day so spuds are chipped and the fats getting hot . Do you think i can find something to add to my chips and turn it into a proper meal - not a chance ! - i daren't touch anything for fear S.W.M.B.O has plans for it !

Chips and egg butties on christmas eve :laughing-rolling: there has to be something wrong with that :laughing-rolling:

I've got a mate who's miserable, dyslexic and straight. Gets into all sorts of trouble this time of year....................Bah BumHug

Presumably you'll be having a nice roast turkey or something similar tomorrow Shayne?

I've missed out on a nice roast turkey for Christmas dinner since being here :icon-cry:

Turkey is obligatory as far as the boss is concerned but i much prefer chicken , surely you can put together the ingredients for a Sunday roast out there Clive ?

Sure, of course I can.

But Christmas has a habit of being traditional. so its tradition that rules.

I've committed myself next year to cook Christmas dinner my way, my ma in law breeds big turkeys so I have to ask for a particularly small one (by her standards) maybe 10-12 kgs. Her birds go to 30kgs and won't get close to going in our oven!

But this year it's the usual Sarmarle (minced pork with rice, wrapped in cabbage (or vine) leaves, home cured/smoked pork sausages and smoked pork meat.

It's all good stuff, just not roast turkey and roasters with gravy!

 i went back to my roots with the chips and egg and it has to be said i thoroughly enjoyed it too

Merry Christmas all, have a great day.

My pressie is sat looking at me from under the tree......

I remember feeling homesick for some simple egg & chips. I was new here and eating at restaurants 100%. I asked the waiter for just egg and fries, can you do that? Yes he said, of course.

15 minutes later he brought me fried eggs and chips, covered in grated cheese! Totally ruined the simple egg & chips I was drooling for!
