New dryer

I'm fitting a new air con compressor and while I'm at it I'm fitting a new dryer.

Went at the dryer earlier and very easily got the two little bolts on top off that hold the flange with the pipe attached. Then tried to lift the pipe and flange off but got more resistance than expected, so had a look at the new dryer and notice that the hole (circled red) is threaded!!

I can't see the top of the dryer clearly so can't see if there's another bolt to come out. Any ideas?

Its not threaded, just very badly machined. Looks like a cheap copy replacement!

Wiggle the pipes around, and they should come out, as they sit in the hole, and have a small location pin. Hope you got the right drier, as earlier r12 systems have different orientation of the holes/locating dowels.

Thanks Dave. Yes, definitely cheap. I got it here....
