Monty from South Africa here. Owning two Prado J90's, the first one is the KZTE version in manual and the later one, by neccesity because of circumstances, a quad cam V6 with an autobox. I was always under the impression that the diesel version is the preferred one but it is out shined by the petrol model from all my research. The auto version, funnily enough, does not have the 4x4 gearlever to the transferbox and has, what seems like factory cover plates, where the gearlever should go?! It does have the transfer box and front differential with side shafts though, so, this is a big puzzle to me.
