Overlanding Advice Front Seat Covers

I have hard-wearing seat covers,cotton/canvas, south african, with all the
necessary holes... I got them direct from Sa through a friend who used to live
there and you can get them here i think. They're expensive here and i think the
only people who do them are the dreaded Scorpion racing just off the north
circular. I wouldn't be mad about giving them any of my hard earned...
I'm not in the car today but I'll look up the name. I really like them but I
know some prefer the beaded covers.

got to admit that canvas seat covers are a damned good idea and are much
cooler than the usual brushed fabric. i've got a full set (front and back)
but mine were made in kenya, however
http://www.melvillandmoon.com/web/index.html might do mail order.
extra side pockets are good for torches etc and a large pocket between your
legs is handy for cash etc. they often make large pockets to the rear of
each seat cover (the same as normal seats) but these are generally huge and
can hold copious amounts of generall kit.

subject: [elco] overlanding advice : front seat covers
hi y'all
seeking you advice again, this time regarding seat covers.
the 'cruiser front seats are leather and i think that it may be more
comfortable to cover the seats with a canvas seat cover.
am i right and/or is another material preferable?
does anyone know of a supplier that can provide seat covers that are
designed/suitable for 80 series front seats and thus have a cut away panel
for the seat adjusting controls?
thanks.
regards
peter
