Picture loading help please.

I have computer with Windows 10. Back in the day I could plug my memory card in to the computer and options would come up as to where the pics were to go. Then when clicked on an option the pics would open and I could send them to "My Pictures".

Now when I plug in my card nothing happens apart from a small black screen appearing. I have to go the "My computer" find the card and mess about trying to find the pictures. When found they are just a bunch of numbers and I have to open each one to find what they are.

Anyway of getting back to the old system?

Cant help with most of that but when you get to the page where its a bunch of numbers right click, choose "view" then change it from details to one of the "icon" options and it should show it all as mini pictures.
