Rav4 invincible

Hi All

I test drove a new Rav4 the other day it was the 2.2 d4d engine version with the six speed auto box. i hate to say it, but it drove very nicely.

its now got me and the wife thinking about going to one car. It will get our two dogs in the boot with ease and still does pretty good MPG (if you believe the book figures) and i still have 4x4 if it snows. and of course its still a toyota.

Currently she drives an Aygo and i have the LC, as well as my work van. the LC only gets used occasionally now. so if we went down this route we would only have one insurance, one tax (Not a massive saving as the aygo is £20 a year) one service and one set of tyres to change.

Has anyone had one or got one? good or bad reviews? its the newer shape 2013 onwards.

They do look nice, but boy have they grown in size, not small 4x4s anymore

Thats what i like about them Tony, it will let me get all my stuff inside when we pack up and go on our holidays or weekends away.but still get pretty good MPG.
ive been on a rav4 forum and they reckon mixed driving they are getting 38-40 mpg and never any lower than 35.

That actually looks quite nice with the contrasting arches and bumpers. Good mpg too. Seems like a sensible choice... Of course you could always get a 80, I hear 80 owners have more fun....

If i do end up going down this route i could bring it to lincomb farm and see how far i get

There is already one that's fine around pretty much all of Lincomb I think and is approved of by the owner ...

The Lesser Models come with 17's so i reckon theres room for bigger rubber.

Its good to know that they are still quite capable for a softroader.

It could be all change again though, the wife has now said she wants to keep her little aygo, so the hunt for a newer lc could be back on
