Hi, I have a 1993 VX petrol Land Cruiser.
I would like to look into buying a new petrol engine that will be more economical to run give me more torque
and will require the least amount of work to re-engine, any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciate.

Unless you have access to milling machine etc, I think your biggest hurdle will be mating the engine to the box. Unless your thinking of using engine, box and transfer from the donor?

If LPG is a thing in NZ, why not consider an LPG conversion? Granted you won't get more power / torque but it'll slash your fuel costs for a fraction of the cost and hassle of an engine change......
