Hi all, I've been having some thuds coming from the rear of my Colorado/Prado 95 recently. I noticed that the very rear mounting bushings were completely destroyed after 25 years so replaced them. Hoping desperately that the thuds would have stopped I was disappointed to hear they are still there, although reduced.

I've noticed on the vehicle mounting frame diagram that there's another mounting bush just before the wheel arch on both sides (rear again) so wanted to replace them too but after looking (including removing the lining in the boot to find any bolt heads etc) I can't find them anywhere!

Am I mistaken or blind? Any help would be appreciated! See the photo for the one I'm trying to locate.

Hi If I remember rightly those bushes sit on top off the chassis rail in the rear wheel arch. They look like a lump of rubber sitting between the body and the rail. Cant confirm this as I sold my Colorado a few years back(BIG mistake). Hopefully someone with a Colorado/Prado will come along and confirm it. HTH

Hi Steve, thanks so much for the advice, I finally found them; or didn't actually because they weren't there! That's why I was struggling to find them! I finally found the screw holes but no mounting bushes. The vehicle is 25 years old and I've had it for 10 years and I don't think I've ever noticed them being there, meaning I don't think there were even attached when I bought it. Very strange! I'll try the bolt holes to see if they're not rusted & then get some bushes ordered.

Are they the body mounting bushes? I know where the body mounts are roughly, but can't remember seeing other bushes in the area? I'm struggling to picture them, I'll check my Colorado if you need a pic.

Do you think the lack of them on yours is causing your thud noises or are you just gonna fit them because they should be there?
