roofrack for HZJ 7X

hello all,

I was importing LR disco racks from the UK to Holland some years ago,
and I was wondering if there are members here who have the the same/ similar (kinda) roofrack for the HZJ?

or does anyone have some "bright" ideas for a roofrack (plans??)

70, 73, 75 or 78?

All have a different roof profile; I'm guessing you're talking about the 70 that you were looking at.

A standard-ish LR 90 roof basket may be the right size, and then I'd just use some Rhino commercial vehicle legs from a late 90's Transit (they lift it enough for the Medium height roof, and have gutter mounts) and would be strong enough to withstand a bit of weight up there.

When we were in Aus we had a set of ROLA cross bars on one of the Troopy's at work which cleared the higher roof profile at the back.

Was that the sort of information you're after?

I never worked out how to do a roof rack on our 73 with the FRP roof...

for the model with an FRP roof I'd guess, that the supports need to be pretty strong, combined with a mesh so the rooftop won't be damaged,
as Im "new" with the LC I'm might have a look at getting one build specifically for my car.
Im looking @ what's useful and what isnt,
any additional info is always useful..
I might post a design I've made for what Im looking for..
