Tachometer stopped in 2003 UZJ100R GXL, any ideas ??

I have recently purchased a UZJ100R. A couple of days later, the tachometer stopped following the towing of a caravan. Not sure if anything relating to the trailer lights could have done something I have checked fuses, checked plugs etc, still not working. I am getting a tachometer reading from a Scangauage that is connected via the OBD2 connector.

Yesterday, when I started the car, the tachometer worked for a trip that lasted about 20 minutes (stopped car). On restart, not working again.

Does anyone have any ideas or struck the same problem? I have not removed the cluster yet, have tried but it did not seem to want to move.

Hi there, and welcome! Or maybe, G'Day Bruce (aren't all ozzy's called Bruce or Sheila??) Sorry - I'll leave now

Anyway - have you checked the FSM (search) for any input - your fault sounds kinda intermittent, so is a sensor wire loose, or a sensor going phut?
