Oily issues.
Something felt wrong with my only last year aquired cruiser.
The gears were a bit scratchy and gearbox wasn't really shifting smoothly.
Haven't had much time for cruising, mostly tinkering on it.
So I decided to do an oil swap.
Out came the maintenance manual and I bought the Toy specified oils.
85W-140 hypoid diff oil full synthetic
75W-90 hypoid tranny oil full synthetic
To my amazement my front diff was filled with RED ATF kinda watery oil.
My gearbox and transfer tranny also filled with RED ATF watery crap.
Rear diff was filled with more thick clear oil type gunge.
So I filled her up with the specified oils from TOY to my disbelief 10 times nearly
as thick as what came out.
Took her for a drive and got a whole different cruiser for my 100 Euro's oil investment.
Gone was the scratchy gear feeling, my clutch didn't shudder half as much upon take-off.
Although still can't get it into 2-nd down-shifting from 3-d. Double clutching is an aquired taste.
Up-shifting is a real dream and 3-4-5 can be shifted on request.
The guy I bought it from "SWEARED" he put top of the line full synth oils in the cruiser.
OR he's a total TOY inept car-dealer.
OR he's to lazy to read the manual in the glove box.
Anyway, I'm happy now and that's what counts.
Greets and may your trannies shift ever so smoothly.
